Switch 2 demo-save transfer is not confirmed in the official guidance available as of October 13, 2026. SEGA’s instructions describe the original Prologue Demo and earlier full-game editions, not the Nintendo Switch 2 release. Keep your Switch 2 demo save until ATLUS or SEGA publishes instructions for this edition. Nintendo lists the Switch 2 game’s scheduled release date as November 12, 2026.
What the official instructions confirm—and what they do not
SEGA’s FAQ, updated October 7, 2024, says save data from the original Metaphor: ReFantazio Prologue Demo can continue in the full game with the same story and character status. It says the full game can detect that demo save and offer the option upon boot. Read SEGA’s FAQ.

That guidance concerns the original demo and earlier full-game editions. It does not establish that a Nintendo Switch 2 demo save transfers to the Switch 2 full game, or specify the steps for doing so. ATLUS’s separate transfer notice also describes prompt behavior on earlier platforms, not a verified Switch 2 procedure. Read ATLUS’s notice.

What to do with your Switch 2 demo save
- Keep the demo save on your console. Do not delete it while waiting for Switch 2-specific transfer instructions.
- When the full game is available, check current ATLUS or SEGA guidance and read any startup prompt carefully. Nintendo lists November 12, 2026 as the Switch 2 edition’s scheduled release date; the listing may change before release. Check Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing.
- If no transfer prompt appears, pause before starting over or removing saves. Contact official support with the demo and full-game platform details rather than trying unsupported account, cloud, or file operations.
Do not assume an original Switch save will carry over
The available information does not verify that a demo save from an original Nintendo Switch transfers to the Switch 2 edition. A shared game title or save-transfer description for an earlier release is not confirmation of cross-generation compatibility.
