A PC port is a distinct product, not a way to install the PS5 version on Windows or macOS. PlayStation Direct’s PC Games FAQ describes the PC and console versions of PlayStation Studios games as different products. Published computer and network requirements
PlayStation’s PC/Mac Remote Play guide lists these requirements. They are vendor-published specifications, not independent performance-test results.

For the network, PlayStation recommends at least 5 Mbps upload and download as a standard, and at least 15 Mbps upload and download for best performance. A speed figure is not a guarantee of a smooth session: PlayStation notes that actual experience varies with the connection and network environment.
The guide lists DualSense, DualSense Edge, and DUALSHOCK 4 controllers, and specifies connecting a controller to the Windows PC or Mac with a USB cable. Controller-specific functions can vary by game and device. A compatible controller is an input device for the streamed session; it does not make the PC execute PS5 software.

Set up Remote Play from a PC or Mac
- Prepare the PS5. Make sure its system software is current, then enable Remote Play in the console’s settings.
- Install the official app. Download and install PS Remote Play for the computer you are using, following PlayStation’s current PC/Mac guide.
- Sign in. Open the app and sign in with the same PlayStation account used on the console.
- Connect a controller. Attach a supported DualSense, DualSense Edge, or DUALSHOCK 4 controller to the computer with a USB cable as specified in the guide.
- Select the console. In the app, choose the PS5 you want to connect to. Once connected, the game session is running on that console and being streamed to the computer.
If a Remote Play session does not work well
- The console is not found or the session will not connect: Confirm that Remote Play is enabled on the PS5, the app is signed in to the same PlayStation account, and the console is available to connect to. Check PlayStation’s current setup guide if the menus or app behavior have changed.
- The picture or controls feel delayed: Check both upload and download performance against PlayStation’s recommendations. Because the service streams a live console session, network conditions affect how responsive it feels; the published speed recommendations do not guarantee a particular result.
- A controller function is unavailable: Verify that the controller is one of the models listed by PlayStation and that it is connected as directed. Features can vary with the game and device.
Remote Play is useful when you want to access your own console from a computer, but it is not a way to play without that console. It also differs from a PC port: you are controlling the PS5 session rather than installing a separate PC game.
Can you cloud-stream PS5 games to a PC?
PlayStation Plus Premium includes cloud streaming for selected PS5 games, subject to the game, subscription, region, account, network, and compatible-device conditions. The cited PlayStation page identifies PS5 consoles and PlayStation Portal for this offer. It does not establish a general PC cloud-streaming client, so do not treat the service as a documented way to stream these PS5 games directly to a Windows PC or Mac.
PlayStation’s stated bandwidth figures for cloud streaming are higher at higher target resolutions. The page gives a minimum of 5 Mbps upload and download to establish a session, then recommends the following speeds for the listed resolutions:

These are PlayStation’s published service guidance, not a promise that every game will stream at a given quality on every connection. Game availability and performance vary, and the offer has restrictions for eligible regions, adult accounts, supported devices, and subscription status. Confirm the current service page for your region and the specific game before subscribing or planning a session.
What is known about PS5 emulation?
Emulation is different from both a PC port and Remote Play. In general, an emulator attempts to reproduce a console’s hardware or software environment so that software made for that console can run on another system. Remote Play does not do that: it connects a computer to an actual PS5 that runs the game. A PC port is also not an emulator; it is a distinct computer release.

Which option fits your situation?
- You want the game running on the computer itself: Check whether that title has a PC edition. Treat it as a separate purchase and check its account requirements and save policy.
- You own a PS5 and want to play its installed games from a computer: Remote Play streams the console session. Verify the computer, controller, account, and network setup against PlayStation’s current guide.
