No—not as a supported setup. Xbox does not list PS5 among its Xbox Cloud Gaming devices, and Sony says PS5 does not include a dedicated web browser app. The supported browser route is to open xbox.com/play on a device Xbox supports, using a compatible browser. A DualSense controller is compatible with cloud gaming on supported devices, but that does not make the PS5 itself a supported device.
Why Xbox Cloud Gaming is not a supported PS5 setup
Xbox’s listed devices for cloud gaming include supported PCs, Apple and Android phones and tablets, selected LG, Samsung and VIDAA smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, and other device categories. PS5 is not listed. Sony’s PS5 FAQ says, “No, the PS5 system doesn’t include a dedicated web browser app.”

Xbox’s browser instructions refer to a supported browser running on a supported device, not a browser workaround inside PS5. The available official information does not verify that a browser reached through PS5 messages, help pages, or another interface can run Xbox Cloud Gaming reliably. Treat such routes as unsupported rather than as a dependable way to play.
How to play on a supported device instead
- Confirm the device. Check Xbox’s current cloud gaming device guidance for your exact device and region. Device categories and support can change.
- Open the service. On a supported device, visit xbox.com/play in a supported browser. Xbox names Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Safari for browser play.
- Check access and game eligibility. Xbox generally requires an active Xbox Game Pass plan and a supported game in a supported region. Select free-to-play games can be played with a free Microsoft account in supported regions. Game availability can vary by region, plan, platform, and time, so check the current catalog and plan terms.
- Connect a controller. Pair a compatible controller by Bluetooth or connect it over USB. Select games offer touch controls. Xbox lists both the DualSense and DualShock 4 among compatible controllers for cloud gaming on supported devices.
- Check your connection. Xbox gives 10 Mbps as the minimum download speed; some devices may need 20 Mbps for best quality. Xbox recommends 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
Choosing an alternative to PS5
Before using another screen as the streaming endpoint, check that Xbox lists the exact device as supported, that it can run a listed browser or Xbox app, and that your region, plan, and desired game are eligible. Also confirm how the controller will connect and whether your internet connection meets Xbox’s guidance. A controller that Xbox supports on other devices does not add cloud gaming support to PS5.
