GTA 6 is currently announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or PC release date in the official platform information reviewed. That means PC availability is unconfirmed—not that a PC version has been ruled out.
Which platforms will GTA 6 be on?
Rockstar lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the game’s platforms. Its support article, “Grand Theft Auto VI Platforms, Editions, and Versions,” was last updated August 18, 2026. The announcement and current game page give a release date of November 19, 2026 for those consoles. Rockstar’s GTA VI page and its platform and editions support article are the official references for availability; Rockstar’s June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement also states the date.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Rockstar’s official platform information reviewed here does not list a PC edition or say when one might arrive. So the accurate answer is that a PC version has not been announced. The omission does not establish that Rockstar will never release the game for PC, and there is no official PC date to rely on.
Can you play it on older consoles?
The announced platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The cited Rockstar materials do not establish versions for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, nor do they confirm backward-compatibility arrangements. Do not assume an older console can run the game based on the announced platform list.
#1 Best Overall
- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19. Code can only be used by users holding an account for PlayStation registered to the US or Canada.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
What should you know before buying?
Choose a supported console edition
If you are buying a console for GTA 6, base the decision on the announced hardware: PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. If you already own one of those systems, that is the straightforward platform choice. Price, hardware availability, and which console ecosystem you prefer are practical considerations, not Rockstar claims about game performance or features.
The boxed version is a download code, not a disc
Rockstar says the physical boxed version contains a digital download code and no game disc. Check the format before buying if you need a disc or want to lend, resell, or install a physical copy without downloading the game.
