What is confirmed about the Beorcan Twinned Keys
The large Beorcan Stronghold door is designed around a pair of Beorcan’s Twinned Keys. The location guide does not describe a single respawning key or a general key-making system; it identifies two separate underground chests near the door. If you have not opened the door, finding both chests is the most evidence-backed solution.

The guide also says the door is optional for players who only want to complete the main story. It mentions valuable rewards beyond the door, but does not name them. That means you should decide whether the detour is worth your time rather than assuming it contains a required story item or a particular piece of loot.
Can the Forger make a replacement?
A recent Reddit post reports that the Scrap Store can forge a copy of the second key through its Forger. This is the only evidence for obtaining an additional Beorcan Twinned Key. It is a single community report, not a Capcom instruction or a result independently tested for this article.

Several practical details therefore remain unknown: the exact menu path, materials, price, waiting period, whether the service is available in every edition, and whether a copied key consistently opens the Beorcan Stronghold door. Do not spend rare materials or abandon the chest search on the assumption that the copy is guaranteed. If you try the reported option, keep a manual save or another backup point first and regard the result as experimental.
Find the first key: the ice-covered hatch
The VGC guide’s first route starts at the large locked Beorcan Stronghold door. It leads away from the door along the path rather than deeper into the doorway itself.
- Stand at the large locked door and follow the path away from it.
- At a right-hand bend, inspect the chapel-like ruins on the left side of the path.
- Look for an ice-covered hatch among those ruins.
- Break the ice covering the hatch and descend into the underground area.
- Enter the small room at the bottom and open its chest.
That chest is the guide’s first documented key location. If the hatch is easy to miss, use the right-hand bend and the chapel-like ruins as your landmarks instead of searching randomly around the main door.

Find the second key: the room behind the locked ruin
The second route begins close to the same door but uses a different ruin. The guide describes a small structure whose visible door is locked from the opposite side. The entrance is reached by circling around the structure, not by forcing that front door.
- From the Beorcan Stronghold door, search nearby for the small ruin with a door locked from the other side.
- Walk around behind the ruin and locate its hatch.
- Descend through the hatch and follow the underground hallway.
- Pass the enemy in the hallway, then continue to the ladder with mushrooms growing on it.
- Climb the ladder to reach the room on the far side of the previously locked door.
- Open the chest in that room to collect the second documented key.
This route explains why the second chest can be overlooked: the obvious door is not the entrance, and the usable hatch is behind the building. The enemy and the mushroom-covered ladder are useful confirmation that you are on the route described by the guide.

What to check before assuming a key is missing
Because both chests are near the same landmark, an inventory mistake or a missed hatch can look like a missing item. Use this checklist before relying on the reported copy service:

- Recheck the chapel-like ruins at the right-hand bend for the ice-covered hatch.
- Inspect the small ruin near the door from behind; its front door being locked does not mean the route is inaccessible.
- Follow the second underground hallway far enough to find the enemy and mushroom-covered ladder, then check the room beyond the ladder.
- Search your inventory for both Beorcan’s Twinned Keys before attempting any replacement service.
The available guide describes the chest locations but does not document a respawn rule, a chest reset, or a separate replacement quest. Avoid treating an empty chest as proof that a key can be recreated until you have checked the relevant inventory and route carefully.
How to treat the reported forging method
What is actually reported
The community account says the Forger at the Scrap Store can copy the second key. It does not establish that every player can access the same option, that the service is present at a particular point in the game, or that a copied key behaves exactly like the chest key.

Follow the Forger’s in-game prompts exactly, note what the game actually charges or consumes, and verify the result at the Beorcan door. If the option is absent or the copied item does not work, return to the chest-search plan rather than assuming the door or your edition is broken.

According to the VGC guide, no: the door is optional for players focused solely on the main story. That makes the missing-key problem a side-content decision rather than an automatic progression blocker. You can continue the main route and come back if you later decide the rewards are worth investigating.

Do you need Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen?
Capcom announced Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen as paid expansion content with a release date of October 9, 2026. The announced platforms are Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Capcom also listed a package combining the base game and the expansion.
Check the exact product contents and platform before troubleshooting access to the Beorcan area. An expansion-only listing is different from a bundle that includes the base game, and a purchase for one platform does not establish ownership on another. The key locations and the reported Forger behavior should not be assumed to apply to an edition that does not include the relevant expansion content.
Why online answers disagree
The chest walkthrough comes from one editorial guide, published October 8, 2026. A second recent guide largely repeats those locations, so it does not independently settle questions about key duplication. The extra-key claim comes from one player post.
