Yes. North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension says crackers and chips stay crisp when they are packaged tightly and frozen. To help preserve their texture, use a well-sealed, moisture-resistant freezer package, then let it warm while still closed before opening. The sealed-package warming step is practical moisture-control advice; the cited sources do not establish an exact thawing time for crackers.
How to freeze crackers
- Start with crackers in good condition. Freeze them while they are still fresh; freezing will not improve their texture if they are already stale. NDSU notes that the food’s condition when frozen affects its quality afterward.

- Warm the package before opening. Leave it sealed while it comes to room temperature. Opening it while the crackers are cold gives humid room air a chance to meet their colder surfaces, which can introduce moisture. What if crackers feel soft after thawing?
