There are no verified playable fishing spots in Baldur’s Gate 3. The fishing rod and bucket of fish mentioned in the game’s official patch notes are environmental scenery at the Emerald Grove—not evidence of a fishing activity. The notes do not give the prop’s exact location or a route to it.
Can you fish in Baldur’s Gate 3?
The available official information does not establish fishing as a playable activity, so there are no confirmed spots or routes where you can fish. Larian Studios’ Patch 3 notes describe the rod and fish as environmental detail, not as equipment or an interaction.

Where is the fishing rod and bucket of fish?
The scenery is at the Emerald Grove, an Act One location in the Wilderness. A community location reference places the Grove north of the Nautiloid Wreck and east of the Forest, which can help you orient yourself on the map.

Larian’s patch note says: “Added some environmental detail and lowered a floating bucket of fish and fishing rod at the Emerald Grove.” It does not identify a specific sub-area, coordinates, or directions to the prop. The Grove includes areas such as the Hollow, Sacred Pool, Inner Sanctum, and Secluded Cove, but the available location reference does not say which—if any—contains the rod and bucket.

What to expect when you look for it
- Treat the rod and fish as decorative scenery, not a usable fishing setup.
- Use the Emerald Grove’s broad map location to reach the area; no exact route to the prop is established.
- Do not expect a list of fishing locations: the available evidence confirms scenery at one location, not a fishing system.
