Usually, no: true wireless earbuds charge by sitting in their charging case, and manufacturer instructions reviewed for Apple, Nothing, Samsung, Xiaomi, and Huawei do not describe a general way to charge loose earbuds directly with a cable or wireless pad. If the case is simply out of power, recharge the case using a method supported by that exact model. If it is lost or broken, look for a replacement made for your earbuds.
Can you charge the earbuds without the case?
There is no general, manufacturer-supported direct-charging trick for loose true wireless earbuds. Apple, Nothing, and Xiaomi all direct users to put their earbuds in the charging case. The case provides the charging contacts and the connection used by the earbuds; a USB cable or wireless charging pad is not a substitute for it.

Do not try to charge loose earbuds by touching wires to their contacts, placing them on a generic wireless pad, or modifying a case. Those approaches are not supported by the manufacturer guidance cited here and can damage the earbuds or create a safety risk. The instructions may differ by model, so consult the support page or manual for your exact earbuds.

A dead case and a missing case are different problems. When you still have the case, recharge it using one of its supported methods. The earbuds can charge once they are placed in a working case.

Use the case’s supported cable
For AirPods, Apple says all charging cases can be charged by cable; the connector varies by case, so use the appropriate Lightning or USB-C cable. Huawei also notes that cable compatibility can vary among case models. Check the instructions for your specific case rather than assuming that every cable or connector will work.
Use wireless charging only if the case supports it
Some cases support wireless charging, but that capability belongs to the case—not to the loose earbuds. Apple describes wireless charging for supported Wireless Charging and MagSafe cases, including use with compatible Qi-certified mats or MagSafe chargers. Nothing says the Nothing Ear case can be charged wirelessly. These features are model-specific; confirm them in the instructions for your case.

Reverse wireless charging is still case charging
Nothing documents using a compatible phone’s wireless reverse-charging feature to charge the Nothing Ear case on the go. This does not charge the loose earbuds directly, and it should not be assumed to work with other brands or cases.
If the case is lost or damaged, find an exact-model replacement
Search for a replacement charging case using the earbuds’ full brand and model name, then verify compatibility with the manufacturer or seller before ordering. Do not assume that a case will fit or charge earbuds just because it is from the same brand. Samsung specifically warns that its Galaxy Buds should not be used with a charging case from a different model because the included case is designed for those earbuds.

- Match the complete earbud model, not just the brand or product family.
- Check manufacturer documentation or support for confirmation that the replacement case works with that model.
- Confirm which charging methods the replacement case supports, such as cable or wireless charging.
- Review the seller’s return terms in case the case is incompatible.
The guidance here does not verify a particular replacement case SKU, so an exact recommendation requires the earbuds’ make and model. Until you can retrieve or replace the case, use another pair of headphones if you need audio.
