No—not for a live feed that depends on the computer you turn off. StreamVoodoo’s documented workflow uses a browser to connect live feeds from participants’ devices. Its documentation does not describe a cloud handoff that keeps a participant’s camera feed running after that device shuts down. If you are also sending the feeds onward through OBS or vMix, that production workflow is separate; the reviewed guidance does not say it continues when the computer running it is off.
What happens when the computer turns off?
StreamVoodoo describes its WebApp as connecting multiple high-definition video feeds with studio-quality sound in real time through a browser. To start a room, a user signs in, selects a room and display name, allows camera and microphone access, and shares an invitation link. That is a device-based live capture workflow, not a documented scheduled or cloud-hosted continuation mode. StreamVoodoo’s FAQ and its terms make compatible devices, software, and internet access part of using the service.

So if a participant’s computer is shut down, assume their live camera or screen feed and session stop. The official material reviewed does not spell out the shutdown scenario directly; this conclusion follows from its browser-based capture and device requirements. It does not establish that StreamVoodoo takes over capture in the cloud.

Separate the StreamVoodoo room from the broadcast
A StreamVoodoo room connects participants. A broadcast to YouTube or another destination may involve a separate production step. The FAQ says a Magic Link provides an individual video feed with sound and can be added as a browser source in software such as OBS or vMix. It also describes those applications as tools for recording or streaming the production to social media or another RTMP server.

In practice, identify which computer is capturing the participant feed and which one is running the switcher or encoder. If either role depends on a computer that is off, do not assume StreamVoodoo keeps that role running for it.
What to check before relying on a session
- Keep the participant’s capture device powered on, connected to the internet, and available to the browser for the live session.
- If you are broadcasting through OBS or vMix, keep the computer running that production workflow powered on and connected as well.
- For StreamVoodoo’s highest-quality video settings, its FAQ recommends wired Ethernet, stating that “For those qualities to perform as they should, an ethernet connection is required.” Ethernet can help the connection; it does not make a powered-off computer continue streaming.
- If Studio Sound is enabled, the FAQ recommends headphones to prevent sound from speakers re-entering the microphone and causing feedback.
