Sometimes—but not just because it is an Astro headset. Whether a PS4 Astro headset works on Xbox One depends on its exact model and the cable, transmitter, or MixAmp it uses. ASTRO documents a wired Xbox One setup for the A10 Gen 1, and Logitech G documents an Xbox transmitter for pairing a PlayStation A20 Wireless Gen 2 headset with an Xbox console. Other models and features need to be checked individually.
Check the model and connection before you plug it in
“Astro” covers several headset families and generations, and a PS4 label does not establish Xbox One compatibility across the range. Find the model and generation printed on the headset or its packaging, then identify the accessory that connects it to the console: a controller cable, USB transmitter, MixAmp, or base station.

Also decide what you need to work. Game audio, microphone input, voice chat, and game/chat balance are separate functions; documentation for one connection does not prove that every function works with every console setup.

| Model or setup | Xbox One connection evidence | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| A10 Gen 1 | ASTRO’s guide shows a wired connection from the headset’s inline cable to an Xbox One controller. | Whether your controller has a headset jack; if not, ASTRO recommends a MixAmp M60 or M80. |
| A20 Wireless Gen 2, PlayStation version | Logitech G documents pairing it with an Xbox console using the Xbox A20 Gen 2 USB transmitter. | Match the transmitter to both the Xbox platform and A20 Wireless Gen 2 generation. The transmitter is not documented for other Astro wireless products. |
| A40 TR and MixAmp Pro TR | ASTRO documentation distinguishes PS4 + PC and Xbox One + PC product configurations. | Confirm the platform version of the bundle and MixAmp. The documentation does not establish that every standalone headset and MixAmp combination supports all Xbox One features. |
How to connect a documented A10 Gen 1 setup
- Check that the headset is an A10 Gen 1 and locate its inline volume cable.
- Plug the cable’s grey end into the headset and its black end into the Xbox One controller’s headset jack, following ASTRO’s A10 setup guide.
- Adjust listening volume with the inline control.
- If the controller has no headset jack, ASTRO recommends adding a MixAmp M60 or M80. Check the exact accessory’s fit and availability before buying.
This is the documented wired A10 Gen 1 setup; it should not be assumed to apply to another A10 generation or Astro model.

Using a PlayStation A20 Wireless Gen 2 on Xbox One
Logitech G says the Xbox A20 Gen 2 USB transmitter can pair the PlayStation version of the A20 Wireless Gen 2 headset with an Xbox console. The transmitter is specific to A20 Wireless Gen 2 headsets and is not documented to work with other Astro wireless products. See Logitech G’s A20 Wireless Gen 2 product information and its transmitter compatibility details.
Match the headset generation and the Xbox transmitter before relying on this route. The available product information establishes the pairing claim for the Xbox console family, but does not by itself establish every Xbox One chat or audio feature. Check the setup guide for your exact configuration if microphone, voice chat, or game/chat balance is essential.

Why A40 TR and MixAmp versions matter
ASTRO documentation lists distinct A40 TR configurations for PS4 + PC and Xbox One + PC. That distinction means the platform version of the bundled audio hardware matters. Do not assume a PlayStation MixAmp or base station is interchangeable with its Xbox counterpart, or that a standalone A40 headset and any MixAmp combination will provide full Xbox One functionality. Check the exact product version against ASTRO’s A40 TR documentation.
