How to invite a friend on another platform
The exact steps vary by game. For a documented example, Ubisoft’s Motorfest guide directs players to invite friends through the Crew Management option in the menu. F1 25’s cross-play toggle is in Settings, according to EA; make sure it is enabled if you want to match with players on other platforms. For Forza Horizon 5, the cited cross-play announcement confirms platform support but does not establish the current invitation steps.
- Confirm that both platforms are included in the game’s current cross-play support.
- Check that the mode you want to play supports cross-play.
- Enable cross-play in the game’s settings if it is off.
- Use the game’s friend, party, convoy, or crew interface to invite the other player, following that title’s current in-game instructions.

Cross-play is not the same as cross-progression
Cross-play lets players on supported platforms play together. Cross-progression concerns carrying eligible progress between platforms. Ubisoft documents Motorfest cross-progression separately and says players switching platforms should use the same Ubisoft account; some in-game content is shared across platforms. Online multiplayer requirements depend on the game, console, and current platform subscription rules. Ubisoft’s Motorfest Help page notes that console multiplayer may require an active online subscription, so confirm the current requirement for your platform.
Motorfest materials describe online participation of up to 32 players, but that figure is not a general guarantee for cross-platform party size or every mode.
