Mike Demo tested three models against three versions of a simulated football team’s prompt files. The results varied by model, prompt version, and run—so treat an LLM as a fallible reviewer, not an automatic release gate.
What the prompt audit tested
In the first Agentic Football Cup, simulated football players were LLM agents whose roles and coordination rules were defined by prompt files. Demo says manually reviewing those files was time-consuming, so he tested whether LLMs could serve as junior auditors.

Each model received a retired team-prompt JSON and the same stress-test audit prompt used by a human. It had to return structured findings: defect IDs, GREEN/YELLOW/RED flags, direct quotations as evidence, and one final decision—SHIP AS-IS, FIX-THEN-SHIP, or DO NOT SHIP. The model was told to report problems, not rewrite the prompt.
The benchmark used three builds:
- v2.5A.1: Three known defects: a defensive-corner collision, an intercept lane-handoff loophole, and a conflict in anti-spam scope.
- v2.5A.2: A fixed, defect-free control. A RED finding here would count as a false positive.
- v2.5A.5: A harder build with eight possible findings of different severities.
Scoring considered whether the models found known defects, avoided RED findings on the clean control, and chose the correct final decision.

What the models found—and missed
Demo reports nine clean runs: three working models tested against all three builds. On the three-defect v2.5A.1 build, GPT-5.4 mini found two defects; Gemini 2.5 Flash and Gemini 2.5 Pro found none in the reported sweep. On v2.5A.5, Gemini 2.5 Pro found four possible findings, Gemini 2.5 Flash found three, and GPT-5.4 mini found none.
The clean control exposed a different weakness. All three models recommended FIX-THEN-SHIP for v2.5A.2, even though it was the defect-free build. None issued a RED finding on it, but their cautious final decisions still failed the benchmark’s decision criterion. Avoiding a severe false alarm is not the same as correctly recognizing when a prompt is ready to ship.

Demo’s verdict was blunt: “If you used one of these as your audit gate, nothing would ever get shipped.” He was referring specifically to the models’ repeated FIX-THEN-SHIP decision on the clean control, not claiming that every LLM audit will reject every prompt.

Demo says an earlier smoke test caught a defensive-corner collision that did not appear in a later resweep of the same model and build. That variation matters: one successful finding does not establish that a model will find the same flaw consistently, and one clean report does not establish that a prompt is safe.

For a useful comparison, run each auditor or workflow against the same prompt builds and rubric, then record distinct outcomes rather than collapsing them into a single score:
- Known-defect recall: Which seeded defects did it identify?
- False positives: Did it report defects—especially RED findings—on the clean control?
- Decision accuracy: Did its ship/no-ship decision match the known state of each build?
- Repeatability: Did findings and decisions hold up across repeated runs?
- Evidence quality: Did its quoted prompt text actually support the finding and point to the relevant defect?
Requiring direct quotations and defect IDs makes findings easier to check against ground truth. A flag without relevant evidence is not a verified defect, and a final ship recommendation should not obscure whether the model actually found the seeded problems.

What this test can—and cannot—show
The reported working lineup was Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, Google Gemini 2.5 Pro, and OpenAI GPT-5.4 mini. Demo also says Claude Sonnet 4.5 attempts repeatedly failed with HTTP 429 capacity errors, while a DeepSeek R1 0528 attempt could not be parsed by the benchmark SDK. Those are observations from this particular setup; they do not establish the models’ general availability or capabilities.
The numbers are author-reported results from nine runs across three models and three prompt builds in one author-created benchmark. They are not independent study statistics, and the evidence available here does not establish a reliable publication year or an independent replication. The findings therefore do not establish how these models would perform across other agent systems, prompts, or deployment conditions.

Demo reports about $0.52 in total spend against a $10 daily quota, including failed attempts. That is a total for the reported work, not a per-model or per-run price. He mentions latency and cost as possible future comparison points, but reports no per-model latency or cost analysis.
