Not as a documented guarantee. Larix Broadcaster’s published materials describe retrying a connection interruption, background streaming, and auto-start workflows, but they do not promise that Larix will relaunch after its process crashes and resume a YouTube broadcast. If the app has closed or crashed, plan to reopen it and start the stream again unless Softvelum confirms recovery for your specific device and app build.
What “restart” means matters
A stream can stop for different reasons, and the recovery behavior depends on which part failed. A network interruption while Larix remains open is not the same as the operating system terminating the app.

What to do when a Larix stream stops
First, determine whether Larix is still running
- Check the phone and reopen Larix if it is no longer on screen or has closed. Treat a crash as a stopped encoder, not as a network retry.
- If Larix is still open, check whether the phone has network access and whether the stream has disconnected. In Larix’s advanced connection settings, review the reconnect timeout and related retry behavior described in Softvelum’s Larix FAQ.
- Do not assume a retry setting can bring back a process that the operating system has terminated. Confirm that the app is running before relying on any reconnect behavior.
Restart the encoder feed to YouTube
- In Larix, verify the selected YouTube stream and the configured server URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions say to enter the server URL and stream key in the encoder and start the stream from the encoder.
- Start the broadcast from Larix and check YouTube Studio to confirm that the incoming feed appears and the live stream is receiving video.
- If the stream does not connect, recheck the selected stream, server URL, key, and network connection. Do not assume that an existing YouTube broadcast or scheduled stream will relaunch the phone app for you.
How Android, iOS, and auto-start differ
Android background streaming
Larix says Android streaming can continue in the background until the app is explicitly closed. That describes continued operation while the app remains active in the background; it is not a promise to recover after a crash or process termination.

Softvelum’s FAQ says that on iOS, background operation cannot access the encoder and camera and permits audio only. Do not treat iOS background mode as a way to keep a full video broadcast running after leaving the app, much less as crash recovery.

Auto-start and remote control
The current Google Play listing describes auto-start as a Premium feature for automated live workflows. The iOS App Store version history also lists streaming auto-start in Advanced settings. Neither description says that the feature detects a crash, relaunches Larix, or restores the interrupted YouTube session. Larix Tuner documentation describes remote start, stop, pause, and resume actions for an instance after control has been handed to the service; those controls are not documented as crash recovery.
Because behavior can depend on the exact device, operating system, Larix build, and stream mode, ask Softvelum to confirm the behavior you need and test that precise setup before relying on unattended recovery. The Larix overview lists Android 7.0+ and iOS 16.0+ compatibility, but minimum compatibility does not establish identical behavior across newer devices or crash conditions. The iOS App Store version history lists version 1.8.6, dated August 11, with a fix for crashes on iOS versions before 26; a crash fix is not evidence that streams automatically resume after crashes.
