Probably—if the JioFiber connection at the encoder can sustain the stream’s upload bitrate with enough headroom. A plan’s advertised speed does not establish your actual upload capacity or guarantee an uninterrupted day-long broadcast. Test the connection where and when you will stream, preferably over Ethernet, then confirm the exact plan’s terms with Jio if the broadcast is commercial.
What determines whether JioFiber can carry the stream?
Available upload bandwidth
YouTube says the outgoing stream’s total bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving about 20% headroom. Upload can be lower than download, and household traffic can reduce what remains for the encoder. A speed test is only a snapshot, not a guarantee that the connection will stay stable for 24 hours. YouTube’s streaming tips explain the bandwidth guidance.

Encoder settings
For H.264, YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps, 6 Mbps for 720p at 60 fps, and 3 Mbps for 480p at 30 fps. Applying the recommended 20% headroom, a 1080p30 H.264 stream calls for about 6 Mbps of available upload capacity before allowing for other household use. That is a planning estimate, not a JioFiber speed promise. Check YouTube’s encoder settings for the resolution and frame rate you intend to use.

Jio says its home plans allow unlimited high-speed data, but its FAQ also reserves the right to discontinue service for misuse, fraudulent, unauthorized, or commercial use. Jio’s 2025 consumer charter says plan speeds are guaranteed up to the ISP node and that contention ratios apply; plan-specific FUP or commercial-use provisions may also matter. These general terms do not establish your local upload speed or authorize a particular commercial stream. Review the conditions for your exact plan and ask Jio about your intended use. How to test JioFiber for your stream
- Choose a target output. Set the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate in your encoder using YouTube’s encoder settings. YouTube recommends RTMPS where supported, CBR bitrate encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds). Its current guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 ingestion.
- Measure upload at the encoder’s location. Run repeated upload tests on the device and connection you will use, ideally over wired Ethernet, at the usual broadcast time. Compare upload—not download—capacity against the outgoing bitrate plus roughly 20% headroom. Repeat while household devices are in normal use to see how sharing affects the result. YouTube’s streaming tips advise accounting for available upload bandwidth and other users.
- Run a private or unlisted test stream. Use similar video movement and audio to the intended broadcast. Check the Live Control Room preview and stream health, and watch a sufficiently long test before relying on the connection for a full day. YouTube advises testing in advance and monitoring stream quality.
- Confirm the plan’s conditions. If the stream is commercial, ask Jio whether your exact plan and address permit the intended use. Public plan language does not settle authorization for a specific creator or address.
- Decide how to handle interruptions. A 24/7 setup depends on more than bandwidth: router or encoder power loss, connection outages, and whether someone can monitor and restart the stream all affect continuity. Test your recovery approach before relying on it.
What a 24/7 broadcast means for YouTube replays
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A continuous 24-hour broadcast therefore carries a replay risk even if the connection stays live. If a complete archive matters, make a local recording and decide whether to end and restart the broadcast in shorter segments. YouTube’s archive guidance describes this limitation.
Channel eligibility, copyright, and monetization
- Live access: YouTube requires an eligible, verified channel to go live. See YouTube’s live-stream setup requirements.
- Rights: You need the necessary rights for material used in the live stream and any archive, including music where applicable. YouTube’s livestream terms cover these obligations.
- Monetization: Repetitive or mass-produced videos can be ineligible under YouTube’s inauthentic-content policy. That does not mean every prerecorded livestream is prohibited, but using prerecorded material does not by itself make a channel eligible for monetization. Review YouTube’s monetization policies.
