No. IMO says it does not provide a feature to track another person’s location. Its location option lets a user send a location in a chat; it is not a way to look up or monitor where the other person is. You can search for IMO contacts, but finding someone in the app does not reveal their physical location.
What IMO’s location feature actually does
IMO’s instructions for sending a location describe a user-initiated action: open a chat, tap the plus symbol beside the message box, choose “Location,” and follow the prompts. This sends a location in that chat. It does not request the other participant’s location or track them.

If you mean finding someone’s account, IMO’s contact-finding guidance describes granting contact permission, syncing phone contacts, searching by name, and inviting people who are not on IMO. These steps can help you find or add a user in the app; they do not show where that user is.

If a contact is missing
- Check that IMO has permission to access your device contacts.
- Check IMO’s “Add Automatically and Sync Contacts” setting.
- Try searching for the person by name or invite them if they are not using IMO.
IMO lists contact permissions and syncing among the checks for missing contacts in its missing-contacts guidance. Menu labels and their locations may vary by app version or operating system.
Why you may not see someone’s profile details
Not seeing information on a profile does not mean IMO can reveal the person’s location. IMO says a user’s privacy settings can limit what others see. Its privacy guidance says phone numbers are not visible to other users by default; profile pictures and usernames may be visible depending on settings. Users can manage who sees their profile, contacts them, and accesses personal information.

Respect consent and privacy
IMO’s FAQ, published January 11, 2024, states: “Imo does not provide a feature to track the location of a person.” It also says: “It’s important to respect others’ privacy and not attempt to track their location without their consent.” The documented options are to find a contact in the app or send a location through a chat—not to locate someone without their participation.
These details reflect IMO Help Center guidance published from October 2023 through January 2024. They describe the features and controls documented there, not an independent technical audit or a guarantee that every menu appears identically on every device.
