- On a computer, open YouTube Studio and go to Earn → Memberships → Loyalty badges.
- Choose custom artwork, YouTube’s default badges, or a mixture for the available loyalty slots.
- Upload badge images that meet YouTube’s file requirements: JPEG or PNG, under 1 MB, and at least 32 × 32 pixels.
- Check that the artwork remains recognizable when reduced to its live-chat display size of 16 × 16 pixels. This is practical design advice, not an additional YouTube requirement.

The badge is a public-facing membership marker shown beside the member’s channel name in comments and live chats on that channel. Members receive the badge through their channel membership; the creator configures the artwork. YouTube describes this benefit in Use & manage your channel membership benefits on YouTube.
YouTube lists badge artwork at 16 × 16 pixels in live chat, so fine details or small lettering may be hard to distinguish. A simple design that stays identifiable at that size is more useful than a detailed image.
