Yes. GCash says a Basic, not-fully-verified account can receive money. In the Philippines, GCash’s limits page lists a PHP 5,000 monthly incoming limit and a maximum wallet balance of PHP 10,000 for Basic accounts, effective October 1, 2026. Those are separate limits: one covers money received during the month, the other the total held in the wallet at one time. GCash’s verification guidance confirms that Receive Money is available as a basic service.
Basic GCash receiving limits
GCash’s limits table, marked effective October 1, 2026, gives Basic profiles these limits:

These are different measures. For example, a wallet may have room under its balance cap but still be unable to receive more during the month because its incoming limit has been reached. GCash says some services may become unavailable after an applicable limit is reached until it resets on the first day of the following month or the account is upgraded. To check the limit attached to your account, update GCash if needed, then open the app and go to Profile > Profile Limits. The figures can change, so the app is the practical place to confirm the limit that applies to you. GCash’s limit guidance describes this check.

What Basic GCash can and cannot do
GCash lists Cash In, Pay Bills, Buy Load, and Scan to Pay among the services available to Basic users. It separately confirms that Receive Money is available to users who are not fully verified. Do not assume that receiving permission means every transfer feature is available: GCash lists Send Money and Bank Transfer among the features added for Fully Verified accounts. GCash’s feature comparison also lists Pay Online, GCash Card, Borrow, GSave, GInvest, GInsure, GLife, and Commute as Fully Verified features.
How Basic and Fully Verified limits compare
The comparison below is for adult profiles in GCash’s limits table effective October 1, 2026. GCash Jr. has separate limits for fully verified users aged 7–17, so the adult figures should not be applied to those accounts.

GCash allows adult users to create up to five accounts linked to one customer profile, but those accounts do not combine into five separate sets of limits: funds received across linked accounts count toward the profile limit. Check the app for the limits assigned to your account.
How to become Fully Verified
- Open GCash and log in.
- Tap Profile > Verify Now.
- Submit an accepted government ID and a selfie as requested in the app.
- Wait for GCash to review the submission and send its decision by SMS.
GCash says adult Basic users can raise their limits by becoming Fully Verified. Its guidance also says a minor Basic user may reach a PHP 100,000 wallet limit through full verification; check the account category and current in-app limits before relying on that figure. What happens if you leave the account unverified
GCash says accounts must be verified within 12 months of creation, as required by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. According to GCash, an unverified account with a zero balance will be closed. If it has a balance, it will be suspended and a PHP 30 monthly maintenance fee will apply after suspension until the balance reaches zero or 10 years have passed, whichever comes first.
