No—not as a documented built-in iPhone feature. Apple documents widgets as glanceable app information and limited actions, while its instructions for viewing an Apple Home-compatible camera send you to the Home app. To see a camera stream, open Home and select its camera tile.
What a Home Screen widget can—and cannot—do
Apple describes widgets as a way to check current app information at a glance and perform certain supported interactions. For example, its Home widget documentation describes controlling a light. It does not document a Home Screen widget that displays continuous live video from a HomeKit camera. See Apple’s instructions for adding and using iPhone widgets.

A widget associated with Home is therefore not the same thing as the camera view in the Home app. Apple’s camera instructions direct users to camera tiles in Home rather than to a widget.

How to view a HomeKit camera stream
- Open the Home app.
- Go to the Home tab and find the camera tile. Apple says video from up to four cameras can appear below the Cameras heading on that tab.
- Select the camera tile to view its stream. Apple’s Home camera setup and viewing instructions explain how to view video from an Apple Home-compatible camera.
The exact arrangement can depend on your Home setup and camera configuration; Apple’s documentation describes the Home app as the place to view the stream.

Live viewing and HomeKit Secure Video are different
Viewing a camera stream in Home is distinct from HomeKit Secure Video, which adds encrypted video processing and recording features. For recorded video, Apple identifies a supported camera, a home hub such as Apple TV 4K or HomePod, and iCloud+ as requirements. Those recording requirements do not turn the stream into a Home Screen widget. Check Apple’s camera and HomeKit Secure Video guidance for setup details.
What about third-party camera widgets?
Apple’s documentation establishes what its Home app and widgets support; it is not an exhaustive inventory of every third-party app or implementation. A third-party app may offer a camera-related widget or shortcut, but that would not establish that Apple’s Home widget itself shows a live HomeKit feed. Before relying on one, check the app’s current feature description, whether it supports your camera, and what the widget actually displays.
