To run Indian music continuously on YouTube Live, you need a separate encoder or cloud streaming service to play the media and send a continuous feed using your YouTube stream URL and key. You also need permission to broadcast every track and any accompanying video.
What a playlist can—and cannot—do
A playlist can organize videos for viewers to watch, but simply opening or looping a YouTube playlist does not turn it into a live stream. A separate system must play the media and encode and transmit it to YouTube. That system might be software on a computer, a hardware encoder, or a cloud service. YouTube’s encoder instructions describe connecting an encoder to YouTube with a server URL and stream key, then starting the transmission.
This distinction matters for Indian music channels that want a continuous bhajan, kirtan, Gurbani, Hindi music, or other programming stream: the playlist is the content schedule, while the encoder is what creates and sends the live feed.
What you need before starting
- An eligible channel: YouTube’s live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours.
- A playback and encoding method: Use a computer with encoder software, a hardware encoder with a media source, or a cloud service. Whatever you choose must keep sending the feed; YouTube does not prescribe a specific playlist-looping app.
- A YouTube stream URL and key: These connect the encoder to the stream you create or select in YouTube Studio. Treat the key as private; anyone who has it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Broadcast rights: You need rights that cover live use of every recording and associated video, as well as any intended territories and replay or archive.
Choose where the stream will run
For a 24/7 broadcast, compare how each setup handles looping, interruptions, and the practical need to keep local equipment online. YouTube documents the encoder workflow and lists verified encoders, but cautions that listed hardware is not made by YouTube. A listing is not a YouTube endorsement of a particular playlist workflow.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Method | Where playback and encoding run | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Local software encoder | Your computer | You control the setup, but the computer, software, power, and internet upload connection need to remain available. YouTube supports encoder workflows but does not certify every playlist-looping configuration. |
| Hardware encoder | A dedicated encoding appliance connected to a media source | It can move encoding off a general-purpose computer. Check compatibility with your source and workflow; YouTube says verified products are not made by YouTube. |
| Cloud streaming service | The provider’s remote infrastructure | It can avoid relying on a home computer, but check the provider’s actual features, pricing, terms, and recovery behavior before choosing one. |
For any option, check how it resumes after a fault, whether it retains uploaded media, which formats it accepts, how much local power and internet it needs, and how you will monitor or recover the stream. Do not assume a provider’s uptime or features without checking its current terms.
Set up a YouTube Live encoder stream
- Enable live streaming and check eligibility. Verify the channel and review the current requirements in YouTube’s getting-started guidance. If this is your first live stream, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- Create or select a stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and create a stream or select one you have already configured. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains this workflow.
- Prepare the encoder and media. Load the videos or playlist into the software, hardware, or service you chose, and configure it to keep playing and transmitting continuously. Confirm the playlist order and loop behavior in that system; a YouTube playlist page alone will not send the feed.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in YouTube Studio into the corresponding fields in your encoder. Keep the key private.
- Start transmission and check Studio. Start the encoder so it sends video to YouTube. Follow any additional go-live step shown in Studio, then verify the incoming picture and sound before leaving the stream unattended.
- Plan how you will monitor and preserve the stream. Decide who will respond if playback or transmission stops. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that does not mean a 24/7 stream will become one uninterrupted archive.
Clear music and video rights before going live
A track appearing in a YouTube playlist does not grant permission to rebroadcast it in a separate live stream. A music subscription, attribution, or a label such as “copyright free” is not by itself proof that you have the rights needed for live use.

YouTube says it scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the broadcast with a placeholder and warn you to stop transmitting the content; if the content continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Copyright or Community Guidelines strikes can also end a stream. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
If you have licensed third-party content, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A stream may still be interrupted without that allowlisting even when you believe you have a licence or the content is territorially restricted. YouTube for Artists also recommends coordinating with the label or distributor; see its music-channel live guidance. Confirm that your permissions cover the tracks, videos, territories, live broadcast, and any replay you intend to keep. This is practical platform guidance, not legal advice about a particular licence.

- You cannot start a live stream: Check that the channel is verified, meets the age requirement, and has no live-streaming restriction in the prior 90 days. If live streaming was just enabled for the first time, activation may take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube is not receiving the encoder feed: Recheck the stream URL and key in the encoder and confirm that transmission is actually running. If you changed or selected a different stream in Studio, make sure the encoder is using the matching connection details.
- The broadcast is interrupted after music starts: YouTube may have matched third-party content. Stop transmitting material you do not have permission to use, and coordinate with the rights owner or label about permissions and Content ID allowlisting before restarting.
- The stream stops when the computer or home internet goes offline: A local setup depends on that equipment and connection staying available. Consider whether a cloud encoder better fits your continuity needs.
- You expected one continuous replay: YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; it does not promise a single uninterrupted archive for a 24/7 broadcast. Plan separately for replay and archive needs.

Before uploading a long playlist, estimate how long the upload may take with the upload-time calculator. Review the copyright safety checklist as a practical prompt, while confirming rights with the relevant owners.
