Why an overlay is not the same as a looping video stream

Documentation that says a video file can be added does not, by itself, say the clip becomes the full-screen primary source, restarts when it reaches its end, or keeps playing without interaction. Choose Larix for a live phone-camera feed
Larix is the stronger documented match when the source is live video and audio from a phone or tablet and you want to publish using a configured protocol such as RTMP or SRT. YouTube’s encoder help lists Larix as a mobile encoder. That makes it a camera contribution option, not a verified prerecorded-video playout system.
Choose neither as a verified loop playout tool without a test

Test before scheduling a long broadcast
Run a private or unlisted test using the same phone, operating system, app version and network you intend to use. The official pages reviewed do not establish long-run performance for either app, so this test is where you verify your specific workflow.
- Is the prerecorded video the primary full-screen source, or only an overlay?
- Does it restart at the end, and is the repeat seamless enough for your use?
- Does playback continue with the app in the background or the phone locked?
- What happens if an incoming call interrupts the session or the network drops?
- Does audio stay in sync throughout the clip and across a repeat?
- Can the broadcast stay within YouTube’s current live-stream requirements for the intended duration?
