The Bytech BY-MS-WS-120 is a simple wireless mouse for everyday computing, not a strong choice for competitive gaming or advanced customization. RTINGS’ review describes a small, symmetrical ambidextrous shape and reliable USB-receiver connection, but also reports mediocre build quality and weak raw performance. Check the exact model and battery requirements before buying: published information differs between the BY-MS-WS-120 and the related BY-MS-WS-120-AC.
What the BY-MS-WS-120 is—and how it connects
RTINGS reviewed a BY-MS-WS-120 that connects through a USB receiver and uses a single AA battery. The review found no connectivity issues during its testing. It does not support Bluetooth pairing, so this is not the right model if you need to connect directly to a phone, tablet, or computer over Bluetooth. RTINGS’ BY-MS-WS-120 review

There is a model-identity wrinkle: a June 3, 2025 manufacturer filing lists the related BY-MS-WS-120-AC among several 2.4G wireless mouse models with identical schematics, while noting differences in model numbers and colors. That filing does not establish that every retail listing or package is identical to RTINGS’ review unit. Compare the full model number, including the -AC suffix, on the product listing and packaging. Shape and everyday use
RTINGS describes the mouse as small, symmetrical, and ambidextrous, making its shape suitable for uncomplicated general work and casual use by either hand. The review reports a default weight of 74.4 g. That is a measurement for RTINGS’ reviewed unit, not a guarantee that every variant or package weighs exactly the same.

Controls and customization
The BY-MS-WS-120 has no side buttons, multi-device pairing, or configuration software, according to RTINGS. Its appeal is simplicity; users who rely on extra programmable controls or software customization should look elsewhere.
Is the BY-MS-WS-120 good for gaming?
RTINGS reports a 125Hz polling rate and disappointing click and sensor latency. On those review findings, the mouse is passable for casual FPS play but a poor fit for competitive gaming; RTINGS rates it badly for MMO use. These are findings from RTINGS’ review, not independent testing for this article.

- Compact Mouse: With a comfortable and contoured shape, this Logitech ambidextrous wireless mouse feels great in either right or left hand and is far superior to a touchpad
- Durable and Reliable: This USB wireless mouse features a line-by-line scroll wheel, up to 1 year of battery life (2) thanks to a smart sleep mode function, and comes with the included AA battery
- Universal Compatibility: Your Logitech mouse works with your Windows PC, Mac, or laptop, so no matter what type of computer you own today or buy tomorrow your mouse will be compatible
- Plug and Play Simplicity: Just plug in the tiny nano USB receiver and start working in seconds with a strong, reliable connection to your wireless computer mouse up to 33 feet / 10 m (5)
- Better than touchpad: Get more done by adding M185 to your laptop; according to a recent study, laptop users who chose this mouse over a touchpad were 50% more productive (3) and worked 30% faster (4)
For competitive play, compare polling rate and latency alongside shape and price. For MMO play in particular, the lack of side buttons is a practical drawback if you need quick access to additional commands.
Build quality and alternatives
RTINGS characterizes the build quality as mediocre. It says the Logitech M317 and M240 feel significantly better built and are likely to last longer. That is RTINGS’ assessment, not a durability test or a claim that either alternative will suit every buyer. Compare the actual connection type, hand fit, battery, controls, build, gaming performance, and current price before choosing.

Check the battery and exact SKU before buying
Battery information conflicts across available descriptions. RTINGS says its BY-MS-WS-120 review unit uses one AA cell. A test report listing the BY-MS-WS-120-AC family describes the tested equipment as powered by two AAA batteries. Because the reports concern different identification contexts and do not establish a universal specification, check the exact unit or its packaging rather than relying on a general listing. Test report listing BY-MS-WS-120-AC
RTINGS says it purchased its review unit from Five Below and published its review on September 28, 2026, using “Methodology v1.5.2.” Its page names Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, and Walmart as retailer search destinations, but that is not confirmation of current stock, price, or an exact-SKU listing. Verify the model number and current offer with the seller. Pricing, inventory, warranty terms, full package contents, exact dimensions, and sensor resolution are not established by the cited information.
