You can buy a virtual private server (VPS) with OpenLiteSpeed and WordPress by choosing a provider’s prebuilt WordPress image or deploying a supported Linux VPS and installing the stack with OpenLiteSpeed’s one-click script. Either way, plan to connect your domain and finish any remaining WordPress and HTTPS setup after the server is created.
Choose a prebuilt image or install the stack yourself
There are two documented ways to get OpenLiteSpeed and WordPress running on a VPS. A prebuilt image is the more direct route; a general-purpose Linux VPS with the one-click script gives you more control over installation options. Provider interfaces and image contents can change, so verify the current details before deployment.

Prebuilt OpenLiteSpeed WordPress image
LiteSpeed documents OpenLiteSpeed images or deployment scripts for cloud platforms including DigitalOcean, Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, Alibaba, Linode, Vultr, IDrive Compute, LightNode and LetsCloud. The WordPress image is described as bundling OpenLiteSpeed, WordPress, LiteSpeed Cache and related dependencies, with automated configuration that can include object caching and PHP OPcache. The exact deployment flow depends on the provider. See LiteSpeed’s WordPress Cloud Image guide and its cloud-image platform list.
General Linux VPS with the one-click script
If you want to use a standard Linux server rather than a prebuilt image, OpenLiteSpeed’s script can install the web server, PHP, database and WordPress components. This route requires you to check the operating system and choose the script options carefully. The official installation guide and one-click script documentation describe supported systems and available options.
Check the VPS operating system before buying
OpenLiteSpeed’s installation documentation lists these non-end-of-life distribution versions: CentOS 8, 9 and 10; Debian 11, 12 and 13; and Ubuntu 22, 24 and 26. Red Hat Enterprise Linux and derivatives are also noted. The VPS provider may offer a narrower selection, and a prebuilt image may use a particular version. Confirm the exact image or operating system offered for your chosen server and check that it remains supported before installation.
What the one-click WordPress options install
The script’s -W option installs OpenLiteSpeed, LSPHP, MariaDB, WordPress and LiteSpeed Cache. With this basic WordPress option, installation is not the last step: you must complete WordPress setup in a browser. The script also documents a --wordpressplus <site-domain> mode that installs and configures WordPress and enables LiteSpeed Cache.

Connect your domain and configure HTTPS
For a site to resolve to the VPS, its domain must point to the server’s IP address. OpenLiteSpeed’s configuration guidance describes using a DNS A record for this purpose. If you deploy a cloud image, LiteSpeed’s image instructions describe entering the domain and optionally obtaining a Let’s Encrypt certificate once the domain points to the server. DNS propagation, certificate issuance and the provider’s setup screens can vary by deployment.
Follow the relevant OpenLiteSpeed configuration guide and, for an image deployment, the WordPress Cloud Image guide. Before treating setup as complete, verify that the domain resolves to the intended server and that the site loads over HTTPS.

The available documentation establishes the software deployment routes, not a current apples-to-apples comparison of provider plans or independent performance results. Compare the server offers for the workload and region you intend to use rather than assuming one provider is fastest or cheapest.
- Deployment: Check whether the provider offers a current OpenLiteSpeed WordPress image or whether you will install the stack on a general Linux VPS.
- Resources: Compare vCPU, memory, storage type and capacity, and any network or transfer limits.
- Operations: Check backup and snapshot availability, recovery steps, monitoring, support and control-panel options.
- Location: Compare available server regions with the location of your expected visitors.
- Total recurring cost: Include the server charge and any separately billed storage, backups, bandwidth, licenses or support. Check billing terms and current provider pricing directly.
- Image details: Confirm the image’s operating system and bundled component versions; catalog listings and instructions can change.
OpenLiteSpeed is not LiteSpeed Enterprise
OpenLiteSpeed is free, open-source software distributed under GPLv3. LiteSpeed Enterprise is a separate product with its own licensing terms. Enterprise license limits or fees are not requirements for running OpenLiteSpeed on a VPS. LiteSpeed’s support page explains the product distinction; its Enterprise licensing documentation and FAQ cover Enterprise-specific terms.
