Browshot Free Plan Limits: How Many Screenshots Can You Capture?

Browshot’s free plan includes up to 100 screenshots per month. Here’s how to check what remains and keep the quota distinct from premium credits and mobile trial credits.

Browshot’s free plan allows up to 100 screenshots per month. The API uses free instance 12 by default when you omit an instance, and the account API reports the remaining monthly allowance in free_screenshots_left.

What counts toward Browshot’s free limit?

The published allowance is 100 free screenshots per month, according to Browshot’s pricing page and API documentation. The API documentation identifies instance 12 as the default free instance for the simple endpoint when no instance is specified.

This is a monthly screenshot count, not a credit balance. Browshot’s account API keeps the remaining free quota in free_screenshots_left and lists balance separately for credits. Check the account response when you need to know how many free captures remain in the current month.

How the free allowance differs from credits

Browshot lists premium browser usage separately from the free-instance allowance: one credit per desktop screenshot and two credits per mobile screenshot on its pricing page. Those are credit costs, not cash prices; the listed figures alone do not establish a per-screenshot cost in money.

Browshot’s virtual mobile browser page also advertises up to 20 free credits for trying mobile browsers after signup. The page does not explain how those trial credits interact with the 100-screenshot monthly free allowance, so treat them as a separate offer rather than adding them to the monthly quota.

Browshot says a free public service may qualify for more free screenshots by special arrangement; contact Browshot to ask about eligibility and terms.

Do not confuse Browshot with ScreenshotCenter

A March 2026 Browshot blog post described ScreenshotCenter separately and mentioned a 500-screenshots-per-month launch-period offer for that service. That is not Browshot’s documented free-plan limit, and the offer’s current availability is not established. See Browshot’s blog for the service context.

Alternative to try first: ScreenshotNeo

If 100 monthly captures are not enough, ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API and MCP server with 1,000 shots per month on its free plan, without a card. It also removes cookie-consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are not billed. Paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

For example, this cURL request captures a URL:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Its MCP server also lets AI agents take screenshots. Sign up for ScreenshotNeo’s free plan to get 1,000 screenshots per month with no card.
