What Ripple Prime will do for Brevan Howard
Under the announced arrangement, Ripple Prime will provide prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to Brevan Howard funds. Ripple describes the deal as an expansion of an existing relationship between the firms.

The announcement does not disclose pricing, transaction volumes, detailed contractual terms, implementation dates or the specific funds covered. It therefore establishes a planned services relationship, not that every Brevan Howard fund is already using Ripple Prime.
Ripple’s release describes Brevan Howard as managing about $35 billion in assets for institutional investors worldwide. The figure is Ripple’s description in its October 6, 2026 announcement.

Which markets and tools does Ripple Prime cover?
Ripple’s general product page describes Ripple Prime as an institutional, multi-asset platform. Its listed markets include digital assets, foreign exchange, precious metals, exchange-traded derivatives, OTC swaps and fixed-income repo. Ripple also describes OTC trading, sponsored access, direct market access, real-time risk management, cross-margining, risk-based margin financing and tri-party custody setups. These are platform-level descriptions, not a list of the instruments or features agreed for Brevan Howard funds.
Separately, Ripple said in a November 3, 2025 U.S. product announcement that U.S.-based institutional clients could execute OTC spot transactions in dozens of prominent digital assets and cross-margin those transactions and holdings with other digital-asset positions, including OTC swaps and CME futures and options. That statement concerns a U.S. capability; the Brevan Howard announcement does not specify the agreement’s geography or instruments.
What the announcement says about the relationship
Ripple says funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in its $500 million strategic investment in 2025. That $500 million is the size of the investment round, not a disclosed contribution by Brevan Howard or its affiliates.

Brevan Howard Group COO Alan McGroarty said the firm expects Ripple’s platform to provide investment teams with “increased operational ease and capital efficiency.” This is his expectation; the announcement reports no measured operational or financial outcome.
Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel called the expanded relationship a “long-term commitment to shared success.” The agreement is a services arrangement as described by Ripple; the release does not announce an acquisition of Ripple Prime by Brevan Howard or a new investment in it.

How Hidden Road fits into Ripple Prime
Ripple acquired institutional prime broker Hidden Road in 2025 and said the acquisition closed on October 24, when Hidden Road became Ripple Prime. In its April 8, 2025 acquisition announcement, Ripple set the purchase price at $1.25 billion and described Hidden Road as clearing $3 trillion annually across markets for more than 300 institutional customers at that time. Those are historical Hidden Road figures, not current Ripple Prime metrics or terms of the Brevan Howard agreement.
In its October 24, 2025 closing article, Ripple said Ripple Prime’s business had grown 3X since the initial acquisition announcement. This is a company-reported historical comparison; Ripple did not provide a measurement methodology in that article.

What institutional investors still need to evaluate
The announcement does not provide enough detail to compare Ripple Prime’s terms with another prime broker or to assess the service’s suitability for a particular fund. Institutional teams evaluating the arrangement would need specifics on:
- Supported asset classes and the exact instruments available to each fund.
- Execution venues, clearing arrangements and access models.
- Financing, margin requirements, cross-margin eligibility and risk controls.
- Custody arrangements, jurisdictional coverage and applicable regulatory permissions.
- Operational integration, service levels, pricing and contractual terms.
Ripple’s product page describes cross-margining, risk management and tri-party custody setups, but the Brevan Howard announcement does not confirm which of these are included in the funds’ arrangements. It also does not establish that XRP or RLUSD is endorsed by Brevan Howard, that trades will settle on Ripple’s blockchain, that client assets are guaranteed, or that the services will improve investment performance.
