Braun’s TexStyle 9 feature information describes vertical steam for touch-ups, a 330 ml tank, anti-drip and automatic shut-off. Braun also says, “The Braun TexStyle 9 operates a constant steam rate even in vertical position.” That is manufacturer wording, not an independently verified measurement for the SI9148EBK.
Auto-off timing differs across the available documentation: CHOICE’s exact-model listing and the 2017 SI 9148 BK sheet say one minute horizontally and eight minutes vertically, while Braun’s TexStyle 9 feature page says 30 seconds horizontally and eight minutes vertically. Do not confuse this iron with newer TexStyle 9 models
Braun’s current GB TexStyle 9 overview advertises series-level figures of up to 3,200 W, 60 g/min Turbo steam and a 260 g/min steam shot, alongside a 330 ml capacity, FreeGlide 3D and ActiClean. The overview covers a product series, not proof that those higher output figures belong to SI9148EBK. For the related SI 9148 BK variant, Braun’s 2017 sheet instead lists 2,400 W, up to 50 g/min continuous steam and a 230 g/min steam shot.
If a seller advertises the newer series figures for an SI9148EBK, ask for documentation tied to that complete model code and the unit’s market. A family name or similar-looking regional code is not enough to establish that the iron has the same output, components or controls.
