Android Authority reported on October 2, 2026, that Amazon had the Bose SoundLink Plus portable Bluetooth speaker for $179, compared with a $269 recommended retail price. That was a reported $90 reduction, or 33%, and the report called it the model’s best price seen that year. The figure is a dated deal report, not a guarantee of today’s checkout price; check the Amazon listing, seller, color, stock and final price before buying.
What the reported Amazon deal means
The $179 price and $269 reference price come from Android Authority’s October 2, 2026 deal report. Its $90 savings and 33% discount are that report’s arithmetic. The article described the offer as the best price seen on the model that year, but that is not a promise that the deal remains available or that every listing has the same price.

- USB-C CHARGE OUT: Keep your phone charged by plugging directly into your wireless speaker’s USB-C charging port – so staying powered isn’t a problem.
Bose says the speaker is shock- and rust-resistant and floats. These are manufacturer claims, not assurances that the speaker is indestructible or safe in every water-related situation. The manual says the USB-C port must be completely dry before charging.
Battery life depends on use
Bose advertises up to 20 hours of play time. That is a manufacturer estimate, not an independent runtime result or a guarantee for every listening session. Bose’s manual describes testing at 65% volume and says runtime varies with volume, audio content, temperature and other conditions; under its stated test conditions, it reports up to four hours at maximum volume.

USB-C charge-out, but no speakerphone
The USB-C port can charge a phone or another device, so the speaker can serve as an external battery. Bose includes a USB-C cable, but its product page says a power adapter is not included. The SoundLink Plus has no built-in microphone, so it cannot be used as a speakerphone for calls.
Is the deal worth considering?
The reported discount may make the SoundLink Plus more appealing if you want a portable Bluetooth speaker with Bose’s stated features and are comfortable with its size and weight. The available evidence does not establish how its sound or value compares with competing speakers, and there is no independent hands-on test here. Treat the price as a reason to check the live listing—not proof that it is the right choice for every buyer.
