Bootstrap FAQ Accordion V06: What You Can Verify Before Using It

The exact Bootstrap Accordion V06 asset cannot be verified. Here is what Bootstrap 5.3 documents and what to confirm before using a FAQ accordion template.

The specific “Bootstrap Accordion V06” free FAQ template cannot be verified from the available references: its download, code, design, license, and Bootstrap compatibility are not established. If you need a Bootstrap FAQ accordion now, Bootstrap 5.3’s official accordion example is documented implementation guidance—not proof of what V06 contains.

What is known about the V06 template?

The name “Bootstrap Accordion V06” suggests a free FAQ accordion template, but the available references do not identify the exact asset. They do not establish where to download it, what files it includes, how it looks or behaves on different screen sizes, what license applies, or which Bootstrap version it supports. A separate page headed “Bootstrap 5 FAQ” is not confirmation of the V06 template’s identity or features.

That distinction matters if you plan to use the template on a live site: do not assume that a preview, code package, license, or accessibility behavior belongs to V06 unless the actual provider documents it. The official Bootstrap documentation below is useful for building or evaluating an accordion, but it does not verify this particular asset.

How Bootstrap 5.3 structures an FAQ accordion

Bootstrap 5.3 documents its accordion as using the Collapse plugin. Its example places an .accordion-item inside an .accordion wrapper, with a button inside a heading and a corresponding collapsible panel. The button’s data-bs-target selector must identify the panel, and its aria-controls value must name that panel’s ID. The aria-expanded value should match whether the panel is open. See Bootstrap 5.3’s accordion documentation.

For an initially open panel, Bootstrap’s example uses .show on the panel, omits .collapsed from the button, and sets aria-expanded="true". These linked states are important: a visual change alone is not enough if the control’s state is out of sync with the panel.

Choose whether opening one answer closes the others

Bootstrap supports two interaction patterns. Use the parent grouping when an FAQ should behave as a traditional accordion, where opening one panel closes another within the same group. The always-open example omits data-bs-parent, allowing multiple answers to remain open at once. That can be useful when readers need to refer to more than one answer, while single-open behavior keeps the expanded content within the group more compact.

Accessibility checks before publishing

Use actual buttons for question controls and place them in a logical heading structure. The W3C WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices Guide (APG) example describes Space or Enter as activation keys for a focused collapsed header; Tab and Shift+Tab move through focusable items in the page sequence. It also demonstrates aria-expanded on the button and aria-controls pointing to the associated panel. An expanded panel may optionally use a region landmark with aria-labelledby naming its heading. See the W3C APG accordion example.

Do not treat Bootstrap classes or a copied example as proof that a template is accessible. W3C explicitly warns that its example code is not intended for production and recommends testing with assistive technologies; browser and assistive-technology combinations can have support gaps, particularly on mobile and touch devices.

Motion, styling, and framework-version checks

Bootstrap documents the Collapse states as .collapse for hidden content, .collapse.show for visible content, and .collapsing during a transition. Its accordion animation depends on the prefers-reduced-motion media query, so avoid describing the animation as unconditional. Bootstrap also provides accordion-level CSS variables and Sass variables for styling, but there is no evidence that V06 exposes those customization options.

Check the template’s stated Bootstrap version and dependencies before integrating it. Do not infer current behavior from older documentation: Bootstrap 4.0’s historical collapse page said that its implementation did not include the keyboard interactions described in the WAI-ARIA accordion pattern and that developers needed custom JavaScript for them. That is a version-specific historical statement, not a blanket claim about Bootstrap 5.3 or later.

Practical decision before using V06

  • Find the original provider page or package and confirm that it is the exact V06 asset.
  • Check its license and permitted use before publishing or modifying it.
  • Confirm the supported Bootstrap version, dependencies, and whether the code uses the matching data-bs-* attributes.
  • Inspect the button-to-panel IDs, aria-controls, and aria-expanded state, including the initial state.
  • Test the intended single-open or always-open behavior, keyboard operation, reduced-motion behavior, and assistive-technology support in the target site.

Until those details are available from the asset’s provider, the safest verified alternative is to use Bootstrap’s documented accordion as implementation context and build or assess the FAQ against the requirements above—not to assume that a named V06 download has been validated.
