The vote covers SPEEA’s Professional and Technical bargaining units—not Boeing machinists or other bargaining groups.
Did Boeing engineers and technical workers approve the contracts?
Yes. Both SPEEA bargaining units ratified Boeing’s revised offers on October 1, 2026, Reuters reported. SPEEA represents about 17,000 Boeing workers, according to Reuters via Investing.com.
The union negotiated separate offers for its Professional and Technical units. The available local vote tally is for the Professional unit only; it should not be read as the combined result for both units.
Professional unit vote
The Professional unit, comprising nearly 13,000 engineers and scientists, approved its offer by 7,895 votes to 3,780, or 67.6%, the Everett Post reported. A comparable Technical-unit tally was not reported in the available coverage.

What raises are reported in the new contract?
FOX 13 Seattle reported an immediate 10% wage increase, a 4% increase in 2027, and guaranteed minimum annual increases through 2030. These are reported highlights, not a complete account of the contract language. The available reporting does not establish every benefit term, precise implementation wording, or each employee’s individual wage path. A minimum increase also should not be mistaken for an identical dollar raise for every worker.
Will Boeing engineers go on strike?
The October 1 ratification removed the immediate strike threat for the SPEEA Professional and Technical units before their existing agreements were due to expire on October 6. Reuters reported that a strike could have stalled work on two delayed jetliners and slowed aircraft deliveries; those were risks, not events that occurred.

Boeing vice president and functional chief engineer for production engineering Ben Nimmergut said, “We’re pleased with the outcome of the vote,” according to Reuters via Investing.com. Ratification settles the immediate contract deadline for the two SPEEA units; the reported wage highlights alone do not provide a complete picture of the agreements.
