Bluehost AI Store Free Trial: Build, Configure, and Know When to Upgrade

Bluehost’s 14-day AI Store trial lets you build and preview a store, but publishing and processing orders require Sell Online and a separate publication step.

Bluehost’s AI Store free trial gives you 14 consecutive days to generate, design, and preview a storefront. It is a setup period, not a live sales channel: Bluehost requires the paid Sell Online plan before you can publish the store, accept orders, or process payments. You can use the trial to prepare the store and decide whether its paid plan fits your needs.

What the 14-day trial includes

Bluehost’s AI Store landing page advertises a 14-day trial with no credit card required. The 14 days begin when you sign up and run consecutively; Bluehost says the trial cannot be extended. During that period, you can design and preview your website and configure the AI Store Dashboard. You cannot use the trial store to publish and sell: those capabilities require an upgrade to Sell Online.

Bluehost’s AI Store page currently advertises Sell Online at $15.99 per month. That is an advertised price, not a guaranteed checkout total. Check the order page for the available billing term, current promotions, taxes, and final price before committing.

How to get started

  1. Open the AI Store or AI Website Builder flow. Describe your business and what you sell so the builder can generate a starting storefront.
  2. Create or sign in to your Bluehost account. The trial starts on signup, so note the date if you want to use the full 14-day setup window.
  3. Review the generated storefront. Treat AI-created copy and product details as drafts. Check them for accuracy and suitability before showing them to customers.
  4. Work through the AI Store Dashboard setup. Use the checklist below to configure the store rather than treating the initial design as a finished shop.

Bluehost describes the broader journey as building the AI-generated storefront, upgrading to Sell Online, completing the dashboard setup, and then continuing to optimize the store in its AI Store journey guide.

Complete the store setup checklist

Bluehost’s dashboard guidance and AI Store FAQ describe setup as a mix of storefront design and operational details. Its FAQ names seven broad tasks: store details, storefront customization, products, pages, payments, taxes, and shipping. In practice, work through the following items:

  • Business details: Enter the store’s business information and choose its currency.
  • Pages and navigation: Create the customer-facing pages you need and arrange the navigation so visitors can find them.
  • Products: Add titles, descriptions, images, prices, inventory, and categories. Verify every listing against the actual product and your intended offer.
  • Branding: Set the logo, favicon, brand colors, fonts, and navigation styling.
  • Payments: Connect the payment method you plan to use. Bluehost’s launch checklist specifically calls for checking the Stripe connection.
  • Taxes: Review tax settings for the regions where you expect to sell. Do not assume generated settings are correct for your business or legal obligations.
  • Shipping: Configure shipping zones and rates for the areas you will serve.

Bluehost’s AI Store Dashboard setup guide and AI Store FAQ provide the source checklists. Configuration alone does not establish that product claims, tax treatment, or other store content is accurate or legally compliant; review those details yourself and seek qualified advice where needed.

What must happen before customers can buy

There are two separate launch gates: upgrading the plan and publishing the site. Bluehost states, “To publish your website, sell products, and process orders through your online store, you must upgrade to the Sell Online plan.” In other words, completing a draft store during the trial does not make it publicly available for sales.

  1. Choose Sell Online in the Bluehost Portal or AI Store editor. Select a billing term and complete payment. Confirm the current price and terms on the order page.
  2. Connect an active domain if needed. Check that the intended domain is attached to the store before launch.
  3. Run the pre-launch review. Verify product information, payment connection, shipping zones and rates, tax settings for your sales regions, site content, and domain.
  4. Publish from the editor. The upgrade alone does not make the site visible; publication is a separate final action.

Bluehost explains the upgrade and publication steps in its Sell Online upgrade guide. Do not treat a dashboard preview as proof that customers can visit the store or place orders.

Trial or paid plan: which should you choose?

Option What it is for Publishing and sales Cost and commitment
14-day AI Store trial Generate, configure, and preview a storefront and work through dashboard setup. Does not enable publishing the store, accepting orders, or processing payments. Advertised as free with no credit card required; lasts 14 consecutive days from signup and cannot be extended.
Sell Online Unlock ecommerce capabilities for the AI Store. Required to publish and sell; you must still publish the site separately after upgrading. Advertised on Bluehost’s landing page at $15.99 per month; verify billing term, promotions, taxes, and checkout price.
Get Online Non-commerce website option identified in Bluehost’s plan distinction. Bluehost distinguishes it from Sell Online; the reviewed material does not establish it as the plan for ecommerce sales. Current price and full feature details are not stated in the cited AI Store materials; confirm them at checkout.

The trial makes sense if you want to prepare the design and store data before paying. If your immediate goal is to accept customer orders, plan on upgrading to Sell Online and completing the separate publication step. Bluehost’s plan details and offer can change, so use the checkout page—not an older price or feature summary—as the final reference.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
