Spoiler warning: This covers Vera’s fate and a quest outcome. Yes—an unofficial walkthrough says you can save Vera by freeing her during your first visit to the lower dungeons while pursuing Into the Den. The guide reports that if you return later, her cell is empty and her fate is uncertain. The official sources reviewed do not confirm Vera’s specific quest or outcome.
How to save Vera
- During the Greifberg Castle section, reach the lower dungeons and start the Into the Den quest chain by speaking to a captive, as described in the unofficial Vera walkthrough.
- Find Vera’s cell and free her during that first dungeon visit. The guide identifies this as the dependable route to her survival.
- Continue through the stealth section with Coen; the guide says Vera follows him and leaves the castle.
These are walkthrough-reported steps, not a route independently confirmed by the developer or publisher.

What if you return for Vera later?
The guide says Vera’s cell is empty on a later visit and a note suggests she was moved toward the coronation chamber. It does not establish what ultimately happens to her, so an empty cell is not proof of a particular fate.

The unofficial guide describes Vera as a villager from Laslea held at Greifberg Castle, apart from Coen’s family. It characterizes her fate as a bonus side-quest outcome that does not change the primary family rescue, the confrontation with Brencis, or the main ending.

The game’s broader story is built around choices and a limited time window. The PlayStation Blog’s 2025 explanation says Coen has 30 days and nights after the prologue to rescue his family. Major actions advance time, but roaming the world does not. Quests can be taken in different orders, skipped, or missed. That source does not say how many days, if any, Vera’s particular quest uses.
In a later PlayStation Blog interview, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said, “We don’t want to punish you for doing stuff.” The blog describes the deadline as a source of urgency rather than constant stress and says the story continues with consequences if time runs out, rather than ending in a game over.

Bandai Namco describes The Blood of Dawnwalker as an open-world dark fantasy action RPG set in 14th-century Europe. Coen is human by day and vampire by night, and the story responds to players’ actions and discoveries. The publisher lists PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its official information does not verify Vera’s location, the Into the Den steps, or the reported outcomes.
