Hindustan Times reported BTC at about $83,070 as October approached and identified $87,397 as an upside level to watch; Economic Times separately put BTC near $84,000 on September 30. Those dated snapshots put $90,000 roughly 7%–8% higher, but they are not live prices.
The macro picture is mixed. The Federal Reserve raised rates in September, with another meeting scheduled for October 27–28, while softer August inflation reportedly reduced market expectations of another hike. And although oil-related inflation is a concern, the available evidence does not establish that a specified oil benchmark was trading above $100 on a particular date.
What would it take for Bitcoin to reach $90,000?
From the roughly $83,070–$84,000 levels cited in reports around September 30 and October 1, BTC would need to rise about 7%–8% to reach $90,000. Hindustan Times described $90,000 as a conditional upside scenario and highlighted $87,397 as a level to watch. That technical threshold comes from secondary reporting; it is not an official market signal, a guarantee, or a probability estimate.
A move above $87,397 could make the target more plausible in the short term, especially if demand holds up and interest-rate concerns ease. A rejection below that level, weaker demand, or a more hawkish policy outlook could make the target harder to reach. The cited reports do not establish a dependable downside price level, so it would be misleading to invent one.

What the Fed has—and has not—decided
On September 16, 2026, the Federal Open Market Committee raised its federal funds target range by 0.25 percentage point, to 3.75%–4%. The Fed said inflation remained elevated. Its next two-day meeting is scheduled for October 27–28, 2026; the calendar date is known, but the decision is not.
The Block reported on September 30 that softer August PCE inflation had reduced expectations of another October rate hike. That describes market expectations, not a Fed commitment. The possibility of further tightening can weigh on risk appetite, while an unchanged or less hawkish outlook could ease one potential headwind for Bitcoin. Neither outcome by itself determines BTC’s price.

Does oil above $100 change the outlook?
Oil can matter to Bitcoin’s outlook indirectly: persistent energy-price increases may add to inflation concerns, which can influence expectations for interest rates and risk-taking. On September 29, New York Fed President John C. Williams said, “I now expect somewhat larger and longer-lasting effects from energy prices on inflation.”
That warning is not evidence that oil was trading above $100 on a particular day. The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s September 2026 outlook forecast Brent crude spot prices to average around $90 per barrel in the second half of 2026. A forecast average and a daily price above $100 are different claims. Any assessment of the “over $100” premise needs to specify the oil benchmark, price measure, and date.

These are ways to interpret the conditions in the cited coverage, not forecasts with assigned probabilities. The $87,397 level and the near-term BTC prices are secondary-source observations that can quickly become stale.
What the ETF-flow reports can—and cannot—tell you
Secondary reporting described spot Bitcoin ETF inflows as slowing. The reported direction and any figures should be treated as dated observations: the available material does not independently confirm them against an original flow ledger. ETF flows can change from one reporting period to another, so they should not be treated as a durable trend or a standalone signal that BTC will reach a particular price.
