The BIGBIG WON Rainbow 2 Pro is a feature-rich wireless controller presented by TechRadar as Switch-focused and also tested on PC. Its Hall effect sticks and triggers, motion aiming and remappable controls make it worth considering, but the reviewer also found switching between PC and Switch fiddly. Check the official manual for the right setup for your device and connection mode.
What is the Rainbow 2 Pro?
The Rainbow 2 Pro is a wireless gamepad from BIGBIG WON. TechRadar’s separate review, by Rhys Wood and published on 27 February 2024, describes it as a Nintendo Switch-focused controller and reports testing it on both Switch and PC. That review is distinct from an indexed TechRadar sponsored article dated 5 October 2023; the sponsored article’s full text is not available, so its claims cannot be verified here.
BIGBIG WON lists three connection options: 2.4GHz wireless using a USB adapter, Bluetooth and wired connection. Exact compatibility and setup can depend on the device, controller mode and firmware. Consult the official Rainbow 2 Pro support page and manual before choosing a mode.

What features does it offer?
- Hall effect sticks and triggers: TechRadar lists both as features of the controller.
- Remapping and extra controls: The review reports remappable controls and extra buttons; BIGBIG WON also describes customizable controls.
- Motion aiming: The manufacturer lists motion aiming, and the review describes gyro support.
- Trigger locks and RGB lighting: Both are among the features described in the review.
- Polling rates: BIGBIG WON specifies 1000Hz when wired and 200Hz over 2.4GHz wireless on its product listing. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results here; polling rate alone does not establish a competitive advantage.
Feature availability and behavior may vary by connection mode. The official support page provides a multi-language manual, app resources for PC, Android and iOS, firmware information and tutorials. BIGBIG WON’s app page directs users to install its PC tool first when upgrading firmware. Check the support page for current downloads and instructions rather than relying on an older version number.
How does it feel to use?
In his February 2024 review, Rhys Wood praised the textured grip, button quality, remappable extra buttons and broad feature set. He also identified two drawbacks: changing between XInput and Switch modes was fiddly, and the thumbsticks felt mushy when clicked. These are that reviewer’s observations, not guaranteed experiences for every user.

How long does the battery last?
Wood reported roughly 15 hours of wireless use on a full charge. That is one reviewer’s reported experience, not a battery-life guarantee or a test conducted for this article; actual runtime can depend on use and settings. His review compared that result with longer runtimes it cited for the 8BitDo Ultimate and Nintendo Switch Pro controller.
How do you switch between PC and Switch?
The review notes that switching from XInput to Switch can be fiddly, but the available information does not establish a reliable, universal button sequence. Use the mode-selection instructions in the controller’s official manual for your specific device and firmware, and confirm compatibility before connecting. BIGBIG WON’s support page is the appropriate place to check the current manual and setup resources.

These are not current price or availability guarantees. Check regional listings for today’s price, stock and exact package contents.

It may suit someone seeking a Switch-focused controller that can also be used on PC, with motion controls, remapping and several connection options. The main trade-off in the cited review is the fiddly mode change, alongside the reviewer’s criticism of the stick clicks. Whether that balance works for you depends on how often you switch platforms and which features matter most; the cited review does not establish that it is better than competing controllers under comparable test conditions.
