The best Xbox Game Pass alternative depends on where you play and whether you want a downloadable game catalog, publisher-specific titles, cloud streaming, or games you buy individually. For a broad console catalog, start with PlayStation Plus Extra; consider Premium if you also want classics and cloud streaming. EA Play and Ubisoft+ suit fans of those publishers, while GeForce NOW streams supported games from libraries you connect—it is not a comparable all-you-can-download catalog.
How to choose an Xbox Game Pass alternative
First match the service to your device and the way you want to access games. A console membership, a PC subscription, a cloud-streaming service, and a storefront purchase solve different problems. Then check whether the games you actually want are currently included and whether they can be downloaded or only streamed.

- Device: Check which consoles or PC platforms are supported, and whether a benefit is limited to a particular app or account.
- Access model: Distinguish a rotating subscription catalog from streaming games tied to connected libraries or buying games one at a time.
- Multiplayer: On PlayStation, Sony says its membership plans enable access to available online modes that require membership. Do not assume that console rule applies to PC.
- Continuity: Catalog titles can leave. Check title-specific save, DLC, and access terms before relying on a subscription as a permanent library.
- Price and billing: Compare the current price in your region, monthly and annual billing, and renewal terms before subscribing.

PlayStation Plus: the closest console catalog alternative
Choose Extra for the catalog
Sony describes Extra as including Essential benefits plus a Game Catalog of hundreds of games. It is the more direct comparison for a PlayStation player looking for a subscription catalog. Sony lists PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium as PlayStation memberships; it is not a Windows download catalog equivalent to PC Game Pass.
Choose Premium for classics and streaming
Premium adds the Classics Catalog and Game Trials, as well as download or streaming access for eligible titles. Sony says Premium members can stream eligible Game Catalog and Classics Catalog games on PS4, PS5, or PC. On PC, Sony describes streaming rather than a downloadable Windows catalog. Sony states a minimum 5 Mbps connection for streaming and says the PC app requires the subscriber to be at least 18. Cloud streaming availability and game eligibility vary. Check Sony’s membership and platform details.

Ubisoft+: a focused option for Ubisoft games
Ubisoft+ is most relevant if the games you want are from Ubisoft rather than a wide range of publishers. Ubisoft’s US selector listed Classics at $7.99 per month, or $79.99 per year (shown as $6.67 per month when billed yearly). Premium was listed at $15 per month or $179.99 per year and included 145+ PC games, new releases on day one and early access when available, selected premium editions and DLC, monthly rewards, discounts, and “Play on Xbox.” These are US page figures accessed October 3, 2026; benefits and prices can change.

EA Play: best considered by EA fans
EA Play offers a selection of EA games, trials of select new releases, member rewards, and discounts. EA lists membership for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC through the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Store, but a membership bought on one platform does not carry its benefits to another. EA’s US FAQ listed EA Play at $5.99 per month or $39.99 per year, and EA Play Pro at $16.99 per month or $119.99 per year, when accessed October 3, 2026. EA Play Pro includes day-one access to select new EA games and premium editions; eligibility and details vary.
On PC, EA Play is not a streaming service: games must be downloaded and installed. Check the current game selection and platform terms before choosing a plan. See EA Play’s features and FAQ.

GeForce NOW: stream games from connected libraries
GeForce NOW is a cloud-streaming option, not a subscription to a broad catalog of downloadable games. NVIDIA describes it as streaming supported PC games from connected game-store libraries; its pages also identify collections from PC Game Pass and Ubisoft Connect. You connect relevant accounts and verify that you own or otherwise have access to a supported title. Support and access arrangements vary by game. This is worth considering if cloud play is the goal and your games are eligible—not as a like-for-like replacement for a catalog subscription. NVIDIA’s “4000+ Games Waiting in the Cloud” is the service’s own listing headline, not an independently audited count. Check NVIDIA’s supported games. Review NVIDIA’s setup guide.

If you want to keep a library of selected games rather than depend on a rotating subscription catalog, buying through a PC storefront is another model. Microsoft identifies Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and the Microsoft Store as PC game storefronts. Compare each store’s current edition, sale price, account rules, and terms; a purchase is not the same thing as unlimited access to a subscription catalog. See Microsoft’s Windows gaming overview.

Which one should you pick?
- PlayStation console and a broad catalog: Compare the current Extra catalog against your must-play list; look at Premium if classics or streaming matter.
- PC and a particular publisher’s games: Compare EA Play or Ubisoft+ against the current included titles and your preferred PC platform.
- Cloud play for games you can access already: Check GeForce NOW’s supported-game list and account requirements before subscribing.
- Long-term access to a few favorites: Compare individual PC purchases across storefronts instead of paying for a rotating catalog you may not use.
Catalogs, prices, and supported platforms change. The figures above are US snapshots from October 3, 2026; verify local pricing, billing, game eligibility, and terms on the linked official pages before paying. A franchise-specific inclusion can change too: Xbox Wire’s April 21, 2026 update said future Call of Duty releases would join Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass in the following holiday season rather than at launch, illustrating why a service comparison should not treat a game’s availability as permanent.
