The best wireless gaming earbuds for PC, PlayStation, and mobile depend first on the connection each device supports. Three options worth shortlisting are SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds, ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova, and Sony INZONE Buds WF-G700N. Each offers a 2.4 GHz USB-dongle connection for gaming, but console editions, compatible devices, and Bluetooth support differ.
Wireless gaming earbuds at a glance
| Model | Connection and documented support | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds | SteelSeries lists 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth, and describes gaming connectivity for PlayStation, PC, handhelds, and more. SteelSeries product page | SteelSeries sells separate PlayStation and Xbox editions. Choose the version for your console and confirm the dongle and connection behavior for your particular setup. |
| ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova | Offers Bluetooth and ROG SpeedNova 2.4 GHz. ASUS lists PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and mobile devices for 2.4 GHz mode. ASUS product page | Check the included dongle type and the supported connection mode for each device in your setup. |
| Sony INZONE Buds WF-G700N | Sony describes them as designed for PS5 and lists the included USB-C dongle for 2.4 GHz connections to PS5 and PC. Bluetooth is LE Audio with LC3 for compatible devices. Sony product page | Confirm that your phone or other Bluetooth device supports the relevant LE Audio/LC3 functionality. |
Which earbuds fit your platform?
For PlayStation and PC
All three models have a documented 2.4 GHz path, but their stated platform coverage is not identical. Sony specifically describes INZONE Buds as designed for PS5 and identifies PS5 and PC for its included dongle. ASUS explicitly lists PS4 and PS5 as well as PC. SteelSeries lists gaming connectivity for PlayStation and PC, but its separate PlayStation and Xbox editions make checking the exact SKU important.

For mobile gaming
ASUS explicitly lists mobile devices for its 2.4 GHz mode, as well as Bluetooth. SteelSeries lists both 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth; check the current documentation for the phone connection and whether switching or simultaneous use meets your needs. Sony’s Bluetooth connection is LE Audio with LC3, and Sony qualifies it for compatible devices—do not assume every phone supports it.
For Nintendo Switch and other devices
ASUS names Nintendo Switch among the devices supported for 2.4 GHz. SteelSeries describes support for handhelds, but verify the relevant edition and connection details for your device. For Sony and any other platform not specifically listed for a connection mode, check the manufacturer’s compatibility information before relying on it.

Choose the connection before comparing features
A 2.4 GHz USB dongle and Bluetooth are separate connection options. For a console or PC, check whether the exact model and edition support that device through the dongle, and whether the dongle’s connector works with your hardware. For a phone, check Bluetooth availability and—in Sony’s case—LE Audio/LC3 compatibility. A phone’s ability to pair over Bluetooth does not establish that it can use every earbud’s particular Bluetooth mode.
Also confirm how you will move between devices. The product information summarized here does not establish identical quick-switching or simultaneous-connection behavior across these three models, so consult the current model-specific instructions if you need to keep a phone and console connected at once.

What else should shape your choice?
- Fit and comfort: Ear shape and tip fit are personal. If possible, check the return policy and available tip sizes before purchase.
- Microphone: Match microphone controls and voice-chat needs to how you play; the available evidence does not support ranking microphone quality across these models.
- Battery and case: Compare the current manufacturer’s specifications and the conditions behind any battery-life figure. PC Gamer’s March 18, 2026 roundup reports 40 hours total with the case for Arctis GameBuds, but this is a roundup figure, not an independently standardized test or a guarantee for every use pattern. - Noise control and app support: Check the current product details for the controls and software features you actually need; no consistent comparative test is established here.
- Regional price and availability: These vary by market and over time. Compare current listings for the exact edition rather than relying on an old roundup or assuming a single global price.
How to shortlist without a universal winner
- Write down the exact devices you plan to use: console model, computer, and phone.
- For each device, verify its connection mode on the manufacturer’s page—2.4 GHz dongle or Bluetooth—and confirm the required connector and compatibility.
- Check console edition carefully, especially for SteelSeries, and confirm phone codec support for Sony INZONE Buds.
- Then compare personal-fit considerations such as comfort, microphone controls, battery needs, noise control, and app features against current regional pricing.
PC Gamer named Arctis GameBuds its best overall wireless gaming earbuds in a March 18, 2026 roundup; GamesRadar also highlighted the model as its leading pick in a roundup published five days before October 4, 2026.
