First, decide what kind of screenshot review you need
A viewport screenshot shows the browser’s visible area at one moment. A full-page screenshot captures content beyond that area by scrolling or rendering the whole page. Choose this workflow when a person is reviewing a page and needs to point out specific issues. If your priority is scheduled, scripted, or batch capture, a desktop annotation workflow may not be the best fit.
Playwright: programmable full-page captures
Playwright’s screenshot documentation provides a fullPage: true option. That makes it the programmable choice among the examples with documented capture behavior here: you can use the browser automation workflow when captures need to be repeated or integrated into code. It requires code rather than a point-and-click extension workflow.
Use full-page capture when the review concerns the whole scrollable layout. Use a viewport capture when the review is specifically about what a user sees at a defined browser size. Captures from different runs do not line up
Check whether viewport dimensions, page state, and timing differ. For a repeatable review, use the same capture mode and browser conditions, and wait for the content relevant to the review to appear. A full-page image from one page state cannot be meaningfully compared with a viewport image from another.
