For an existing OBS setup, Restream is a documented cloud-relay option; for a browser-based studio with guests, StreamYard is a better fit. Both can send a live program to YouTube and other destinations, but their destination limits and plan boundaries differ. If you want to keep a prerecorded video running on YouTube around the clock rather than simulcast a live production, StreamNeo is a separate, purpose-built option.
Choose a workflow before choosing a service
Multistreaming means sending one live program to more than one platform at the same time. The main decision is whether your own encoder sends separate outputs, or whether it sends one feed to a cloud service that distributes it.

- Cloud relay: Send one feed from OBS or another encoder to a service such as Restream, which forwards it to configured destinations. This can avoid encoding multiple separate outputs on your computer. Restream describes reduced per-platform outbound bandwidth as an advantage of its relay model; that is the vendor’s product description, not an independent performance test. Restream’s OBS multistreaming guide.
- Local multi-output: Your encoder handles the outputs and your connection uploads them. This gives you direct control, but increases computer and upload demands. YouTube describes local hardware or software encoding as a fit for creators who want control and have a powerful computer. YouTube’s simulstreaming guidance.
- Browser studio: A hosted studio lets you produce the show in a browser and send it to multiple destinations. This can suit interviews or guest-led streams, but check its paid-plan limits and platform-specific features.
YouTube’s guide says all channels and platforms involved should be active and in good standing. Review each destination’s own live-streaming eligibility requirements too.

Its destination guide lists native support for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Twitch, Kick, and Vimeo. It also says custom RTMP may work with platforms that accept an RTMP feed, with some features limited. A platform appearing on a list does not mean every feature works identically: check the destination table for details on orientation, scheduling, comments, and other controls. Check bandwidth if you send multiple outputs locally
YouTube gives an example of a 6 Mbps stream plus a 4 Mbps stream requiring a 10 Mbps combined upload target, and advises 15–20 Mbps upload capacity for stability. These are YouTube’s example and recommendation, not a guarantee for every setup. Your actual needs depend on the streams you configure and connection conditions. Test your upload connection and monitor stream health during a private or otherwise low-stakes run before relying on it.
YouTube’s guidance puts the point plainly: “For high-quality simulstreaming, sufficient Internet upload speed is critical for the live streams to work properly.” Read the YouTube guide.

Set up a cloud relay with OBS
- Confirm the destinations. Check that each channel is eligible to go live, decide whether you need native platform integration or custom RTMP, and verify the relay plan covers the number and type of destinations. For Restream, the free plan documented on February 9, 2026 covers two channels; more than two, Facebook Pages or Groups, and custom RTMP require paid access.
- Add destinations in the relay. Sign in to the service and connect the accounts or destination details it supports. Keep each destination’s access credentials private.
- Connect OBS to the relay. Follow Restream’s current OBS guide to use its service integration or enter the stream key it provides. Do not paste a key into a public chat, recording, or screenshot.
- Check the OBS output. Confirm the selected service and stream are correct, then inspect the platform’s preview or stream-health status. YouTube’s guide discusses both cloud-service and local-encoder approaches; use the settings required by your encoder and platform rather than assuming one bitrate fits every output.
- Start and verify. Start the stream in OBS and confirm that the intended destinations receive it. Check audio, video, orientation, and any platform-specific controls before promoting the live stream.
- End the session cleanly. Stop the stream in OBS and confirm that it has ended on the destinations. If you rotate or revoke a stream key, update the relay or encoder before the next broadcast.
Costs and plan checks
Restream’s cited free-plan article and StreamYard’s cited plan-limit article do not establish current subscription prices. Compare the checkout or plan pages directly, and include the features you actually need: destination count, custom RTMP, branding, guest capacity, and any browser-studio tools. A free tier’s destination cap or branding can matter more than its headline price.

Common problems and fixes
A destination is missing or will not connect
Check whether the platform is natively supported or requires custom RTMP, whether the account is eligible to stream, and whether the chosen plan includes that destination type. For StreamYard, custom RTMP may have limited features; for Restream, the cited free-plan terms require paid access for custom RTMP and Facebook Pages or Groups.
The stream drops or looks unstable
For local multi-output, compare total configured upload demand with your tested upload capacity; YouTube’s 15–20 Mbps recommendation is headroom guidance, not a guarantee. For a relay workflow, check both the encoder’s connection to the relay and the destination’s stream-health status so you can identify which leg is failing.
The stream reaches one platform but not another
Verify that every destination is connected, that its stream key or account authorization is current, and that the plan allows the destination count and type. Check the platform preview before assuming the problem is in the encoder.
A free stream shows branding
Restream’s free-plan article says free streams contain a watermark and/or a link in the description. If that is unsuitable, compare the current paid-plan terms before going live.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want a prerecorded video to keep a YouTube channel live 24/7, upload it to StreamNeo, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay powered on at home; videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month.
