Choose based on how you record: an all-in-one script-to-video workflow, voice-following while you speak, or a simple prompt display alongside a camera and editing setup you already use. Which teleprompter app fits your YouTube workflow?
Start with the job you want the app to do. Some combine prompting with recording and editing; others emphasize voice-following or script display. Device support, paid-feature limits and app-store terms can change, so confirm them on the vendor page or current store listing before installing or subscribing.

How to choose an app for your setup
1. Confirm where you will use it
Check whether the app supports your actual device: iPhone or iPad, Android, desktop, or web. If you draft scripts on one device and film on another, confirm whether and how scripts sync. Do not assume that an app’s phone, web and desktop versions have identical features.
2. Decide whether prompting and recording should happen together
If you want to record in the same app that displays your script, check recording controls, export options and the exact features included in the plan you would use. If you already record with a camera app or separate camera and edit elsewhere, a prompt display may be all you need. An all-in-one workflow can reduce handoffs, but it is not automatically a better fit if you prefer your existing tools.

3. Match the scrolling control to how you speak
- Manual or fixed scrolling: Consider it if you can keep a fairly steady pace and prefer direct control.
- Voice-following: Consider it if you pause or vary your pace. Check supported language, microphone guidance and device requirements; performance in a particular room or with a particular voice is not established by a feature description.
- Remote control: Check whether a Bluetooth or other remote is supported and whether it is included, sold separately or tied to a plan. Do not assume every remote works with every device.
4. Consider where the camera lens sits
For phone filming, a prompt close to the phone’s lens may help keep your gaze near the camera. If you record with a separate DSLR or mirrorless camera, a camera-mounted teleprompter can place text in front of the lens using beam-splitter glass. Check camera and lens compatibility, device fit, glass, size, portability and mounting requirements before buying hardware. 5. Check the complete cost and export path
The cited app pages do not establish a reliable, comparable current price list. Before purchase, check your app store or the vendor for the price in your region, trial terms, renewal timing, cancellation terms and feature gates. Also confirm that recordings or scripts can be exported in a way that fits your editing and publishing workflow.

Should you buy a camera-mounted teleprompter?
It is an optional accessory for a particular setup, not a requirement for using a teleprompter app. If you film directly on a phone, you may be able to work with an on-screen prompt without separate glass or a mount. If you use a DSLR or mirrorless camera and want the script aligned with the lens, compare physical units for camera fit, glass quality, size and portability before ordering.
