For streaming Bloodborne from a PS5 to a Steam Deck, start with Chiaki-NG’s current defaults, enable Remote Play on the console, and make the network connection as stable as possible. There is no verified universal resolution, bitrate, decoder, or frame-rate setting that is best for every setup; adjust only after identifying a specific problem such as stutter, disconnection, or poor image quality.
Which app should you use?
Use Chiaki-NG, an independent open-source PlayStation Remote Play client for Linux and other platforms. It is not Sony’s official Steam Deck app, and its maintainers state that it is not endorsed or certified by Sony. Sony’s official Remote Play app support list does not include Steam Deck. Follow the Chiaki-NG project documentation for installation and configuration steps for the version you install.

How to connect a Steam Deck to a PS5
- Enable Remote Play on the PS5. Open Settings > System > Remote Play and switch on Enable Remote Play. Sony says this is required the first time you use the feature.
- Keep the PS5 ready for Remote Play. Make sure the console is updated, online, and signed in to the PlayStation account you intend to use.
- Install and open Chiaki-NG on the Steam Deck. Use the project’s current documentation for installation and account configuration; the exact steps can vary with the client version.
- Try automatic discovery. Keep the PS5 and Deck on the same home network while pairing. If the console does not appear, choose Pair Device in the PS5 Remote Play settings and enter the code displayed by the console into the client.
- Start the Remote Play session and test the game. General Sony Remote Play guidance does not establish that Bloodborne will work in every account, region, or configuration, so verify your own setup rather than assuming compatibility.

What Steam Deck streaming settings should you use?
Begin with the settings Chiaki-NG provides by default. The Sony guidance covered here gives general network advice, while the Chiaki-NG repository overview does not establish a single current tuning preset for Steam Deck. A setting that helps one network or device may not help another.

Change one relevant option at a time only when the installed client version exposes it and you can connect the change to a symptom. For example, if the picture looks poor but play is stable, investigate image-quality options; if the stream stutters or drops, check network stability before changing video or decoder settings. Note your original values so you can revert if the change makes the stream worse.
Network conditions matter more than a preset
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Remote Play guidance, accessed October 9, 2026, gives a minimum connection speed of 5 Mbps for both upload and download, and recommends at least 15 Mbps in each direction for best performance. The recommended figure is not a guarantee of smooth play: signal quality, congestion, and the connection between the console and router also affect a stream.

- For a Deck playing at home, use a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection when available.
- If possible, connect the PS5 to the router by Ethernet. The Deck can remain on Wi-Fi; wiring the console does not guarantee lower latency or eliminate every network problem.
- Pause large downloads and reduce other heavy network use while testing.
- Test from near the router if the wireless signal is weak, then compare the result from your usual playing spot.

Troubleshoot by symptom
The PS5 does not appear or pairing fails
- Confirm that Enable Remote Play is on and that both devices are connected to the same network for local discovery.
- Use the PS5’s Pair Device option and enter its displayed code in Chiaki-NG if automatic discovery fails.
- Check that the console is online, updated, and signed in to the relevant PlayStation account.
The picture stutters or the session disconnects
- Move the Deck closer to the router or use a stronger 5 GHz Wi-Fi signal.
- Pause downloads and reduce competing network use, then test again.
- Where possible, wire the PS5 to the router. An optional Cat 6 Ethernet cable can connect the console to a router with an Ethernet port; it will not wire the Steam Deck in this setup or guarantee a particular result.
- If local checks do not resolve the issue, Sony identifies UDP port 8572 as relevant to Remote Play and warns that NAT Type 3 may prevent a connection. Router and network-provider settings vary, so change them only if you understand the effect and can restore the original configuration.
The connection is stable but image quality is unsatisfactory
First make sure the Deck has a strong, consistent connection and that the network is not congested. Then, if Chiaki-NG’s installed version offers a relevant video option, test a change and compare it with the original. Do not assume that increasing a quality setting will improve the experience if the connection cannot sustain it.

The session connects but a game image is missing
Sony notes that some games do not support Remote Play and that some images may not display during a session. Its general support guidance does not specifically confirm Bloodborne compatibility across all current accounts, regions, and configurations. A successful connection to the console alone does not prove that every game display or session will work as expected.
