There is no independently tested, universal “best” Soulmask host in 2026. The right choice depends on your group’s peak concurrent players, required RAM, player location, Workshop or DLC plans, backup controls and the full renewal bill. Nitrado and GTXGaming publish the most detailed Soulmask-specific information in the material available here, while GPORTAL and 4Netplayers provide useful price reference points. Treat every price as a dated lead, not a quotation.
Use the comparison below to narrow the field, then verify the exact map, mod support, memory allocation, backup restore process, datacenter and cancellation terms at checkout. No live load, latency or uptime testing establishes that one provider performs better for every group.

What “best” means for a Soulmask server
A managed host rents and operates the dedicated Soulmask process for you. You choose a location and plan, then use a web panel or file access to control settings, save data, backups and, where supported, mods. The host handles the underlying machine, network connection and operating-system maintenance; you remain responsible for game settings, access permissions and the health of your world.
For Soulmask, compare these six things before comparing headline prices:

- Peak concurrent players: slots should cover the number online at the same time, not every recruited tribesman or everyone in a community Discord.
- Memory disclosure: look for included RAM, upgrade increments and the price of moving up. The game’s Steam page lists client-PC requirements, not an official dedicated-server RAM minimum.
- Location: select the datacenter nearest the majority of players. A location list is not a measured ping, so test from your players’ networks after deployment if latency is critical.
- World continuity: scheduled and off-site backups, downloadable saves and a documented restore path protect a long-running settlement.
- Control and compatibility: confirm panel access, FTP or file manager availability, target maps and DLC, and the current behavior of Workshop mods.
- Commercial terms: compare currency, tax, billing interval, renewal price, storage, support hours and cancellation rules—not just the first number shown.
Platforms, Workshop support and the current version question
The current Steam listing describes Soulmask as a PC game and includes Steam Workshop support and Soulmask Modkits. Steam’s client requirements are Windows 10 64-bit at minimum (Windows 10/11 recommended), an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X minimum processor, 16 GB RAM, a GTX 970 4 GB or RX 580 4 GB, DirectX 12, broadband and 25 GB of storage. Recommended client hardware rises to an Intel Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 7 3700X, 24 GB RAM, an RTX 3060 or AMD 6700XT, DirectX 12 and the same 25 GB storage; Steam marks an SSD as preferred at minimum and highly recommended at recommended settings. None of those figures defines the memory or CPU requirement of a hosted server.
Nitrado’s FAQ identifies the supported platform as PC (Steam) and says Xbox and PlayStation versions are planned, adding: “There is no confirmed release date for these versions.” Do not buy a PC Steam rental expecting console cross-play unless the provider publishes a new, explicit announcement.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The same Nitrado FAQ says no Soulmask mods are available. That statement conflicts with the newer Steam Workshop and Modkits wording and with GTXGaming’s guide updated October 8, 2026, which explains Workshop mods. Treat Nitrado’s statement as potentially stale rather than proof that its current panel supports mods. Ask Nitrado to confirm Workshop installation, update behavior and removal before paying for a modded world; never infer support from another host’s documentation.
Provider comparison
The table separates provider-published features from a dated secondary price snapshot. “Not stated” means the cited material did not establish a comparable value.
| Provider | Published Soulmask details | Location information | Backup and control claims | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nitrado | 14 slots for $4.99 per 3 days or $19.49 per 30 days; 20 slots for $24.99 per 30 days. Custom configuration lists 14–50 slots and rental periods from 3 to 365 days. | European, North American, Asian and Australian locations are listed. | Automated/daily backups, DDoS protection, web interface and config/FTP access are advertised. | Prices and locations can change. Its “no mods” FAQ wording needs confirmation against current Workshop support. |
| GTXGaming | Its Soulmask materials advertise slots, RAM options, upgrades, world upload, clusters and support for maps, mods and DLC. | Worldwide datacenters are advertised; select the actual city or region in the order panel. | Off-site and scheduled backups, DDoS protection, 24-hour support and world-transfer tools are advertised. | The product page shows a January 13, 2025 update date. Prefer the separate guide updated October 8, 2026 for newer Workshop and plan details, and verify limits at checkout. |
| GPORTAL | Secondary comparison lists $15.59 for 10 slots and $22.91 for 20 slots. | Not stated in the cited comparison. | Not stated in the cited comparison. | Those are US list-price snapshots, not a matched feature or performance test. |
| 4Netplayers | Secondary comparison lists $13.76 for 10 slots and $18.59 for 16 slots. | Not stated in the cited comparison. | Not stated in the cited comparison. | The comparison says taxes are included; confirm memory, backups, support and renewal terms directly. |
Nitrado: straightforward slot and rental choices
Nitrado’s offer page is useful when you want a clearly displayed slot menu or a short rental period. The currently displayed examples are 14 slots at $4.99 for three days and $19.49 for 30 days, plus 20 slots at $24.99 for 30 days. Its custom configuration spans 14 to 50 slots and runtimes from three to 365 days. A three-day price is not an equivalent monthly rate, and a 30-day display may not equal a calendar-month subscription, so calculate the effective cost for your intended term.
The page lists European, North American, Asian and Australian locations and advertises automated or daily backups, DDoS protection, a web interface and config/FTP access. Confirm how many restore points are retained, whether a restore overwrites the live world, and whether FTP exposes the complete save directory.
Because the FAQ’s no-mod statement conflicts with newer game and third-party documentation, obtain a written answer about Workshop mods before selecting Nitrado for a modded or Modkit-based server. Also ask whether the panel supports the specific map and DLC you plan to run.

GTXGaming: more published transfer and cluster tooling
GTXGaming advertises worldwide datacenters, off-site and scheduled backups, DDoS protection, 24-hour support, world upload, upgrades and support for all maps, mods and DLCs. Its feature page says more than 200 Soulmask servers are operating; that is a provider-published count without a clear measurement date, not an independent market or capacity statistic.
The provider’s newer guide, dated October 8, 2026, discusses Workshop mods, clusters, slots, RAM, pricing and locations. Use that guide for current descriptions, but still read the order page: marketing claims do not establish how much CPU time, memory, storage or backup retention your selected tier receives.
GTXGaming’s save-transfer documentation is unusually specific. It identifies the world file as world.db and the gameplay-settings file as GameXishu_#.json. After upload, the settings file is renamed GameXishu.json. The guide gives Windows’ default local path as %LOCALAPPDATA%WS[SteamID]2646460AutoGames[InviteCode] and lists provider target locations. Those destination paths may be specific to GTXGaming’s layout; use your host’s current panel instructions if they differ.

Position Is Everything reported a US connection check on October 10, 2026, using regular list prices without introductory offers or coupon codes. Its figures are useful for rough budgeting but do not compare equal memory, CPU, storage, backup or support packages:
| Provider | Example plan | Memory and slots shown | Price reported |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTXGaming | Entry example | 10 slots; comparison says plans offer up to 10 GB RAM | $15.21 per month |
| GTXGaming | Mid example | 20 slots | $22.81 per month |
| GTXGaming | Larger example | 40 slots | $39.29 per month |
| GPORTAL | Entry example | 10 slots | $15.59 |
| GPORTAL | Mid example | 20 slots | $22.91 |
| 4Netplayers | Entry example | 10 slots | $13.76, taxes included according to the comparison |
| 4Netplayers | Mid example | 16 slots | $18.59, taxes included according to the comparison |
Before ordering, put the same assumptions into a worksheet: country and currency, tax treatment, billing period, renewal amount, RAM, storage, backup retention, support channel, cancellation notice and any setup fee. A lower slot price can cost more once memory upgrades, taxes or a different renewal term are included.
How to choose capacity without overbuying
Count simultaneous players
Estimate the largest number likely to be online during an event, then leave headroom for a busy weekend. A community of 30 people does not automatically need 30 slots if only 12 play at once; conversely, a 20-person tribe may need more than 20 slots if several tribes share the server. Ask the provider what its “slot” number limits—connections, characters or something else—before checkout.
Use RAM disclosure as a buying requirement
No authoritative dedicated-server baseline was established here, and “12 GB minimum” is not an official Soulmask requirement. Prefer a host that states the memory assigned to each plan, the upgrade amount, the resulting price and whether upgrades can be made without rebuilding the world. After launch, monitor actual usage during peak activity and keep a margin for map expansion, additional players and mods.

Match geography to your group
Choose the region where most players live, not simply the cheapest advertised location. If a group spans continents, select a central region and test from representative home connections. A host’s worldwide or multi-region list describes availability, not the latency your players will experience.
Purchase and first-launch procedure
- Define the workload. Write down peak concurrent players, map, DLC, planned Workshop mods, expected cluster count and a target monthly budget.
- Shortlist matching plans. Reject any plan that does not disclose memory, upgrade pricing, location, backup behavior or the slot definition.
- Confirm compatibility in writing. Ask support about the exact current Soulmask build, map, DLC, Workshop installation and mod-update process. This is essential for Nitrado because its FAQ wording may be outdated.
- Select the nearest practical datacenter. If two regions are close, prefer the one with clearer support hours and restore documentation rather than assuming a tiny geographic difference guarantees lower ping.
- Read the final checkout screen. Record currency, tax, initial term, renewal amount, included RAM and storage, backup retention, cancellation and refund rules.
- Create an administrator and backup routine. Use a unique password, restrict panel access and download a copy of the world before major setting or mod changes.
- Start vanilla first. Let the server boot with no mods, connect from at least two player accounts and verify saves, permissions and restart behavior.
- Add content incrementally. Install one Workshop collection or mod group at a time, restart, check logs and have players confirm that the client and server versions match.
- Measure real usage. Observe memory, CPU, save times and disconnects during a peak session. Upgrade only when evidence shows the current tier is insufficient.
Moving an existing world safely
World continuity is more important than a small monthly price difference. GTXGaming’s guide explicitly instructs operators to stop the server before replacing save data to avoid conflicts or corruption. Use that principle with any host.
- Stop the source server and wait until its panel reports that the process has fully exited.
- Download the complete save and retain an untouched local copy. On Windows, the documented local save location is
%LOCALAPPDATA%WS[SteamID]2646460AutoGames[InviteCode]. - Identify
world.dband the gameplay settings file. GTXGaming documents the latter asGameXishu_#.json. - Start the destination server once, stop it, and locate the host’s generated save directory. Do not assume another provider uses GTXGaming’s paths.
- Upload the files while the destination server is stopped. On GTXGaming, the uploaded settings file is renamed
GameXishu.json; follow the destination host’s current naming instructions elsewhere. - Keep the original backup until players have connected, inventories and structures are present, and a new server-side backup has completed.
Editing settings and installing mods
Settings files
Use the panel’s configuration editor when available, because it can preserve valid JSON and restart the service correctly. If you edit manually, download the original first, change one value at a time, validate the JSON and restart during a maintenance window. A malformed file can prevent startup or silently revert settings.
GTXGaming’s documentation distinguishes GameXishu_#.json during transfer and GameXishu.json after upload. That naming detail may not apply to another host’s file manager, so do not overwrite a similarly named file without a backup.
Workshop mods
Steam now advertises Workshop support, and GTXGaming’s October 8, 2026 guide describes Workshop mods. Installation steps, load order, automatic updates and client requirements remain host- and mod-specific. Confirm whether the panel accepts a collection ID, whether updates occur automatically, how failed updates are rolled back and whether every player must subscribe to the same items. Keep a vanilla backup before the first mod deployment.
Backups, restores and migration questions to ask
- How often are automatic backups made, and how many points are retained?
- Are backups stored off the game machine or in the same account only?
- Can you download a backup yourself?
- Can support restore one file, or only roll back the whole world?
- Does a restore require a stopped server and how long is downtime?
- Can the world be exported in a standard file format if you migrate?
- Are backup storage and restore actions included or charged separately?
Common failure modes and fixes
Players cannot connect
Check that the server process is running, the displayed address and port are current, the game build matches the server, and the player is on Steam PC rather than an unsupported console version. If only some players fail, compare their client versions, Workshop subscriptions and network restrictions.
World appears to roll back
Stop making changes, stop the server cleanly and inspect timestamps. Restore the newest known-good backup rather than repeatedly restarting a possibly corrupted process. Keep the original files before attempting replacement.

Mods cause a crash or missing content
Return to the vanilla backup, confirm every client has the same Workshop items, then add mods in small groups. Check the host’s update and load-order rules; a provider’s generic “mods supported” claim does not guarantee compatibility with a newly released mod.
Performance degrades as the settlement grows
Record peak player count, memory use, CPU load and save duration before upgrading. If the plan exposes no metrics or RAM figure, ask support for the assigned resources and move to a tier with a documented upgrade path rather than guessing from slot count alone.
Pre-purchase checklist
- Peak concurrent-player estimate and the host’s slot definition
- RAM amount, CPU/resource policy, storage and upgrade price
- Nearest datacenter and any test or refund policy for poor latency
- Current map, DLC and Workshop/Modkit support
- Backup frequency, retention, download and restore procedure
- Panel, FTP or file-manager access and permission controls
- Support hours, response channel and emergency recovery process
- Initial price, tax, renewal, billing interval and cancellation terms
- Migration instructions for
world.dband settings files
Conditional recommendations
Choose Nitrado for a simple published menu if its current checkout offers your required slot range and location, and support confirms the exact Workshop and DLC behavior you need. Its displayed short and 30-day rental options make term comparison easy, but do not treat the FAQ’s no-mod wording as current without confirmation.
Investigate GTXGaming for transfer, backup and cluster tooling when world uploads, off-site backups, location choice or a documented Workshop workflow matter. Verify the current RAM and slot limits because its product page and newer guide have different publication dates, and provider claims are not independent performance measurements.
Recommended Free Tools
Use GPORTAL or 4Netplayers as price leads, not automatic winners. The dated comparison gives useful 10-, 16- and 20-slot reference prices, but it does not establish equal RAM, support, backups, map coverage or renewal terms.
For a large, modded or clustered world, select the provider that will state RAM, resource allocation, backup restoration, map compatibility, support coverage and upgrade costs in writing. That evidence-based process is more reliable than a universal ranking.
