For a prerecorded YouTube stream that must keep running around the clock, choose software built for continuous looping and cloud operation. StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it keeps uploaded videos live on YouTube from the cloud, streams the files as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and includes a free first day. YouTube’s encoder guide also lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. A local encoder such as OBS can work, but your computer, media, and internet connection must stay available. StreamYard fits scheduled prerecorded events, not a single continuous 24/7 broadcast.
Choose by the job: continuous loop, local encoding, or scheduled event
These are different workflows, and “supports prerecorded streaming” does not necessarily mean a service can loop indefinitely.

| Option | Best fit | Who keeps it running? | Key limitation or check |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Continuous YouTube streaming of uploaded videos | StreamNeo’s cloud | One stream per slot; confirm the current plan and storage needs on StreamNeo pricing. |
| Gyre | Cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming | Gyre’s cloud | YouTube lists it in its encoder guide, but that listing is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service. Verify current loop controls, formats, recovery, and terms. |
| OBS or another local encoder | Operators who want direct control and can maintain a running computer | Your computer, network, and power | It is an encoder workflow, not outsourced uptime management. |
| StreamYard prerecorded scheduling | A finite video scheduled to start at a chosen time | StreamYard starts the scheduled event | Documented prerecorded-video duration limits range from two to eight hours by plan, not 24/7 looping. |
YouTube describes encoder software as either computer-running streaming software or hardware, and instructs creators to enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key in the encoder. Its guide includes Gyre for continuous prerecorded streaming; a directory listing should not be read as YouTube guaranteeing a vendor’s uptime. YouTube’s encoder guide
Best cloud software for continuous prerecorded streams
1. StreamNeo: straightforward cloud operation
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; the cloud repeats the material, so your computer and home connection do not have to remain on. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera feed.

2. Gyre: another cloud option to evaluate
YouTube’s encoder guide identifies Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. That makes it relevant to continuous playback, but the listing alone does not establish current plan limits, recovery behavior, uptime, or cost. Before committing, check whether the current service supports the source format and playlist behavior you need, how it reports interruptions, and what its terms say about continuous use.

When a local encoder or scheduled stream makes sense
Local software encoder
A local encoder sends a computer-generated stream to YouTube. Configure the YouTube server URL and stream key in the encoder, select the prerecorded media source or playlist, and start the broadcast. This is practical if you already have suitable hardware and can monitor the machine, but it leaves power, internet stability, restarts, and recovery in your hands. YouTube’s encoder documentation explains the stream URL and key workflow: set up an encoder for YouTube Live.
StreamYard for a finite scheduled broadcast
StreamYard documents a workflow for choosing a prerecorded video as the source and scheduling the YouTube broadcast; the event can begin at the selected time without the creator being online to start it. Its published help article gives maximum prerecorded-video lengths of two hours on Core, four hours on Advanced, and eight hours on Team and StreamYard Business. It also describes plan-based concurrent scheduling limits and scheduling up to 365 days ahead. These are documented limits, not proof of continuous looping. Plan details can change, so check the current terms. StreamYard’s prerecorded-stream instructions · StreamYard’s help article on scheduling
StreamYard’s instructions say advance scheduling is unavailable for custom RTMP destinations. Its pricing page lists two-hour prerecorded streams on Core and four-hour streams on Advanced; prices may vary with promotions, seasonal deals, renewal terms, and custom offers. How to choose without mistaking “live” for “24/7”
- Confirm continuity: Look for explicit continuous looping or sequencing, not just prerecorded-video support or scheduled starts.
- Assign uptime responsibility: Cloud services reduce the need to keep a local computer connected, while a local encoder requires you to maintain that computer and its connection.
- Check recovery and controls: Find out how the service reports a dropped stream, whether it reconnects, and how you can replace media or end a broadcast.
- Plan the archive separately: Long live streams are not a dependable substitute for a recording or complete replay.
- Review rights and channel suitability: Streaming software does not grant music or video rights and does not make repetitive material original.
- Compare total cost for your use: Include the stream duration, number of slots, storage, and any hardware or electricity you would otherwise supply. A feature label alone does not establish value.
Protect the replay: YouTube archive and DVR limits
YouTube says it can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours, but warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 broadcast can therefore continue live without producing a complete replay. YouTube recommends making a local backup. YouTube Help: archive live streams

Rights, originality, and monetization are separate from software
You need the rights to every element in a live broadcast, including relevant music rights, and should confirm that licenses cover both live use and any replay. YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility for necessary rights on the content provider. YouTube Terms of Service
Monetization is a separate review. YouTube says monetized channels should publish original, authentic content; repetitive or mass-produced material may count as “inauthentic,” and reused content without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value can create monetization problems. The policy applies at the channel level. Looping an existing video around the clock does not itself make it original, although this is a policy risk, not a prediction that every continuous stream will be rejected. The stream ends when the computer sleeps or disconnects
That is a local-encoder failure point: keep the computer awake, prevent planned restarts from interrupting the encoder, and monitor power and network connectivity. If you do not want to maintain a machine and connection, use a cloud service designed for continuous streaming.

The broadcast is live but no complete replay appears
For streams beyond 12 hours, YouTube may not archive the event at all, and DVR can be limited. Keep a separate recording and do not promise viewers a complete YouTube replay.
Viewers report that they cannot rewind
DVR behavior can be limited on very long broadcasts. If rewind is important, consider shorter events and retain a separate recording for later viewing.
A stream is interrupted or fails to reconnect
Check the service’s current status and recovery controls, verify that the source media and stream credentials remain available, and confirm whether the product promises or documents automatic reconnection. YouTube’s directory listing does not guarantee a vendor’s interruption handling.

A channel’s monetization is at risk
Review the channel’s overall mix for repetitive or reused programming and ensure the broadcast offers original or meaningfully transformed value. Confirm rights for all video and audio, including live and replay use; changing the streaming tool cannot fix a content or licensing issue.
Or let it run in the cloud
Upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live.
