Two smart rings have official statements that their core tracking works without a subscription: the RingConn Gen 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Ring. A third, the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, is listed as subscription-free by independent buying guides, but its sales status depends on your country. We could not confirm ten models that meet the same standard, so this guide covers the options that do, instead of padding the list to reach ten.
Here, a smart ring “without a subscription” means its core data and insights are available without a required recurring paid plan. Optional paid add-ons are a separate question, covered below. Prices, availability and feature claims are as checked for this October 2026 update and can change by region.

What “no subscription” covers and what it does not
A subscription-free claim answers only one part of the cost question. Before buying, separate three things:
- Core access: ring data collection and the sleep, activity and wellness insights the maker says are included without a paid plan.
- Optional paid features: add-ons or premium services a maker may sell on top. These do not make the core ring a subscription product, but they can add cost, so check the app for them.
- Prerequisites: a phone, an app and an account are needed for setup and for most insights. Dropping a subscription does not remove these requirements.

Phone and account requirements
Samsung’s product information requires a compatible Android smartphone, the Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health apps, and a Samsung account. If you use an iPhone, this ring is not an option on those stated requirements.
Price and sizing

Tom’s Guide reports that Ultrahuman and Luna rings are blocked from sale in some markets amid legal proceedings. The same comparison says RingConn has reached a licensing arrangement with Oura.
