InMotion is the clearest fit if you want a traditional account-based setup with WHMCS and domain-reseller tools included. SiteGround suits agencies that package client sites on Cloud plans with white-label Site Tools. HostGator puts more of the resource-allocation and client-payment decisions on you, and its advertised discount applies only to the first invoice.
These are feature-based fits, not performance rankings. The available provider information does not establish which service is fastest, most reliable, best supported, or lowest-cost over time.
What reseller hosting means for your business
Reseller hosting lets you sell or manage hosting for clients while relying on another company’s infrastructure. You remain responsible for the client-facing business: deciding what to offer, setting prices, and determining how clients receive support and pay you. The provider’s tools and account model determine how much operational work you can automate and how much branding control you have.
Two different approaches appear in these options. Traditional reseller hosting centers on separate customer accounts managed through WHM and cPanel. SiteGround instead describes Cloud plans where you create packages for clients and give them access to white-label Site Tools. Those models can both serve agencies, but they are not interchangeable: compare how you manage individual accounts, assign resources, and bill clients before choosing.

Which reseller host fits your workflow?
Choose InMotion for a bundled traditional reseller setup
InMotion’s plan page presents the most explicit bundle of traditional reseller tools among these three: WHM, cPanel licenses, WHMCS, domain-reseller tools, and white-label configuration. WHM is used to create and manage customer accounts; WHMCS supports billing and account automation. Bundling these tools can reduce initial setup work, but check the license scope and any renewal terms that apply to your plans before relying on the bundle.
InMotion’s comparison table lists up to 300 GB NVMe storage, unlimited bandwidth, up to 100 cPanel accounts, a 90-day money-back guarantee, and up to five dedicated IPs. These are the vendor page’s plan maxima and listed terms, not independent measurements of performance or a guarantee that every plan includes the maximum. Verify the current plan comparison and exact allocation before signing up.
Rank #2
InMotion Hosting’s Reseller Hosting Product Guide advises setting up packages and practicing account-management tasks before taking on customers. It also recommends completing white-label configuration first, saying: “White-label everything before your first customer signs up, so nothing in cPanel, your URLs, or your emails gives away who hosts the servers.”
Choose HostGator if you want to set client allocations and payment methods
HostGator’s reseller page says the reseller determines resource allocation and payment methods. That flexibility means you need a clear policy for how much capacity each client receives, what they pay, and how changes or payment issues are handled. It also means you should not assume the plan automatically supplies a finished client billing operation.

Pay particular attention to the offer price: HostGator says the advertised discount applies to the first invoice only and excludes VAT. Compare the amount due on renewal, the term covered by the first invoice, and any other costs relevant to your setup. The page lists hardware specifications by plan, but its current prices and limits are volatile and should be checked directly at purchase. HostGator describes its service as a way to build a branded hosting business without incurring server-maintenance costs; that does not establish that the provider handles support for your end customers.
Choose SiteGround for custom Cloud packages and white-label Site Tools
SiteGround’s reseller model is built around Cloud plans rather than the traditional per-client cPanel account setup described by InMotion. It says you can create custom packages that specify resources such as space, traffic, and databases, and provide clients with white-label Site Tools. This can suit an agency that wants to define client tiers around the sites it builds and manages.
Rank #4
Read “unlimited websites” and “unmetered traffic” in the context SiteGround gives them: the plan remains subject to its available resources. A website count or transfer description does not mean that a Cloud plan has unlimited processing, memory, storage, or capacity for every workload. Match your package promises to the resources available on the plan.

A low introductory invoice or a bundle of tools does not by itself establish the least expensive service. Work out the cost and work of delivering hosting to your clients, including renewals and components outside the headline plan.
Best Value
- Compare the full billing term. For HostGator, account for the first-invoice-only discount and check the renewal price and VAT treatment. For every provider, verify current term lengths and prices before purchase.
- Check software licenses. Confirm whether WHMCS and cPanel licenses are included, what plans or account counts they cover, and whether the inclusion continues at renewal. InMotion’s page lists WHMCS and cPanel licenses; do not assume a feature listed for one provider or plan applies to another.
- Include add-ons and client costs. Check the cost of domains, dedicated IPs, backups, and any other services you plan to include in your packages. The cited plan information does not establish a single comparable total for these items across all three providers.
- Budget for your own operations. Decide who handles client onboarding, billing, support, migrations, security, and backup processes. Reseller hosting does not by itself establish that the infrastructure provider supplies white-label support for your customers.
- Stress-test your package design on paper. Estimate the storage, traffic, databases, and account or site count your actual clients need. Compare those needs with the plan’s stated limits and upgrade path before selling a fixed package.
What this comparison can—and cannot—say
The provider pages support a comparison of the available account-management tools, branding features, package models, and stated plan details. They do not establish a tested overall winner. No controlled uptime, speed, support-response, migration, or billing tests are available here, and the vendor-listed storage, bandwidth, account, and site figures are not performance results.
If reliability, speed, or support response is decisive for your business, seek current independent evidence that measures comparable plans under a workload resembling yours. Until then, choose based on the operating model and features you can verify, and confirm volatile limits, licensing, support coverage, guarantees, and prices with the provider before committing.
