Which alternative fits your Android phone?
For a premium pick across Android brands
RTINGS selects the Sony WF-1000XM6 as its top Android recommendation. TechRadar’s premium choice is different: it calls the Technics EAH-AZ100 its overall favorite and includes it among its Android options. Because these are distinct editorial judgments, choose between them by checking the features and fit you care about rather than treating either label as a universal winner.

For a Samsung Galaxy phone
The Galaxy Buds4 Pro may make more sense if you own a Samsung phone and will use its Samsung-specific codec and game-mode functionality, as described by RTINGS. That added ecosystem fit is not a reason to assume every advanced feature works on other Android handsets. RTINGS reports six hours of continuous battery life for the Buds4 Pro in its guide, so weigh endurance alongside those phone-specific features.

For a lower mid-range alternative, RTINGS lists Nothing Ear (3). It reports LDAC, two-device multipoint, ANC, and parametric EQ through Nothing’s Android-compatible companion app. The review context gives 5.3 hours of continuous battery life and says its ANC falls short of the strongest models. Those battery figures come from different publications and review contexts, so they are useful for narrowing choices, not a direct lab comparison.

What to compare before buying
Battery life in the mode you actually use
Check whether a published figure is for continuous earbud playback with ANC on or off, and whether it includes the charging case. The cited figures above are ANC-on where that mode is stated; RTINGS gives six hours for Galaxy Buds4 Pro and 5.3 hours for Nothing Ear (3) in its guide context, while its Space A40 figure is more than eight hours. TechRadar’s Nothing Ear (a) test table gives 5.5 hours with ANC on. Do not compare a case-inclusive total with earbuds-only runtime.
Codec support and multipoint
RTINGS reports LDAC for Nothing Ear (3) and Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro; TechRadar reports it for Nothing Ear (a). Whether LDAC is useful depends on support in your phone, listening app, and playback setup. Multipoint is also not identical across models: the cited RTINGS guide reports connections to two devices for Nothing Ear (3) and three for Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro. Confirm that a model supports the switching behavior you need rather than relying on the word “multipoint” alone.

Fit, comfort, and controls
Fit varies from person to person. The Space A40’s five included tip sizes give you more sizes to try, but they cannot guarantee a secure or comfortable fit. Check the return policy and whether the earbuds stay in place during the activities you plan to use them for. Also confirm app and control compatibility with your Android phone before choosing features such as EQ or device switching.
