Best OLED TVs for 2026: What to Know Before You Choose

A practical 2026 OLED TV shortlist: compare the LG C6, Samsung S95H, S90H and S85H, plus LG and Sony alternatives, by room, gaming needs and movie features.

The best OLED TV for 2026 depends on your room, budget, and how you watch. For a U.S. all-rounder to investigate, the LG C6 offers a broad size range and announced support for Dolby Vision and 4K 165Hz VRR. Samsung’s S95H is a premium alternative that RTINGS rates highly for bright-room handling and gaming. Movie viewers who prioritize Dolby Vision and image processing may prefer the Sony BRAVIA 8 II. These are useful candidates, not ten independently verified winners: the available comparisons do not support a defensible ten-model ranked list.

How to choose an OLED TV in 2026

Start with the viewing conditions and features that matter to you, then compare the exact screen size and regional model code. OLED choices can differ meaningfully in bright-room performance, gaming support, HDR-format compatibility, and price. A reviewer’s “best” pick reflects that outlet’s testing and priorities; it is not a universal result.

  • Room brightness: If the TV will face windows or strong daytime light, prioritize independent bright-room comparisons and reflection handling.
  • Gaming: Check the precise model and size for HDMI 2.1 inputs, supported refresh rates, and variable refresh rate (VRR). Confirm compatibility with your console or PC rather than assuming every size has identical features.
  • Movies: Confirm support for the HDR formats you use. Dolby Vision support can distinguish otherwise similar options, and availability may vary by regional model.
  • Price and size: Compare the current price for the same screen size, model year, and market. Account for placement and viewing distance before choosing a size.

2026 OLED TVs worth shortlisting

The following models have specific support in current manufacturer announcements or reviewer coverage. The shortlist is not a ranked top ten: the available evidence does not establish ten comparable, independently tested recommendations.

LG C6: a well-rounded candidate

LG’s U.S. announcement lists C6 sizes of 42, 48, 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches, with a launch MSRP starting at $1,399. That is announced U.S. pricing, not a current street price. LG also lists Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and 4K 165Hz VRR among its features; confirm specifications for the exact size and SKU before buying. RTINGS includes the C6 in its 2026 OLED recommendations, while TechRadar reports its tester found it brighter and more accurate than the preceding C5 in side-by-side testing.

Samsung S95H: premium option for brighter rooms and gaming

Samsung Electronics America announced the S95H as its flagship in a three-series U.S. OLED lineup, with screen sizes reaching 83 inches. RTINGS names it its best OLED tested in 2026 and reports advantages over the LG G6 in bright-room handling and gaming. Those are RTINGS’ findings, not guarantees across every size or regional version. Samsung also promotes Glare Free technology in its 2026 range; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent test result.

Samsung S90H and S85H: lineup alternatives to check

The same U.S. announcement lists the S90H and S85H alongside the S95H. Tom’s Guide reports that the S90H has four HDMI 2.1 inputs and gaming support up to 165Hz, but verify those details on the product page for the exact size and market. What Hi-Fi? describes the S85H as an entry-level model and flags its built-in speakers as a weakness. The evidence supports considering these series, not assigning either a universal award.

LG G6: compare for picture and physical-media support

RTINGS includes the LG G6 as a notable mention and describes it as offering better physical-media format support than the S95H. In RTINGS’ comparison, the S95H performs better in bright rooms and gaming and costs less. These are outlet-specific comparisons; check the tested size, regional SKU, and current like-for-like prices before treating them as decisive.

Sony BRAVIA 8 II: consider for Dolby Vision and processing

RTINGS identifies the BRAVIA 8 II as an option for viewers who prioritize Dolby Vision and image processing. Its comparison says the S95H performs better in bright rooms and gaming and costs less. Those trade-offs are reviewer findings, not a claim that one set is best for every movie viewer or market.

Check regional models and current prices

This shortlist is primarily about U.S. models. Names and specifications can differ by market: for example, What Hi-Fi?’s guide discusses the UK Samsung S99H, while Samsung’s U.S. announcement names the S95H. Do not assume a similarly named TV sold elsewhere is identical. Before purchasing, confirm the model code, size, supported formats, gaming features, warranty, and availability for your region. Manufacturer launch prices and sale coverage are not a substitute for checking today’s listing.
