The Hindi language does not call for different video settings. The important differences are whether you are recording or broadcasting, what quality and compatibility you need, and whether you have permission to use each track.

Choose the right OBS workflow: recording or live streaming
OBS settings differ depending on the job. A local recording is saved to your computer and can be edited or uploaded later. A live stream is sent to a platform in real time, so its bitrate must fit both your internet connection and that platform’s requirements.
- Recording a playlist scene: prioritize a resilient file format, a suitable quality preset, and an encoder compatible with your editing or playback workflow.
- Broadcasting the scene live: configure the destination and stream key, then choose output settings that meet its current requirements and your stable upload capacity.
There is no specific OBS setting established as best for Hindi music; the guidance below applies to playlist streams generally.

Recommended OBS settings for a local recording
Set recording format to MKV
In Settings → Output → Recording Format, choose MKV. OBS recommends it because an interrupted recording is less likely to lose the entire file. If your editor or upload workflow requires MP4, use File → Remux Recordings after recording. OBS also documents compatible fragmented MP4/MOV workflows, but check that your target application supports the format you choose. OBS’s Standard Recording Output Guide and its Audio/Video Formats Guide explain the tradeoffs.
Use Advanced Output when you need separate controls
In Settings → Output, select Advanced for more independent recording and streaming options or when you need to select audio tracks. In the recording section, include the tracks you actually want in the file. Separate audio tracks can help keep copyrighted music out of a particular recording track, but that is only an audio-routing choice; it does not grant permission to broadcast or publish the music.
Pick a quality preset that suits the recording
OBS’s recording presets trade off quality, file size, and system load. High Quality is a sensible storage-conscious starting point. Indistinguishable can preserve more detail at the cost of larger files and potentially greater performance impact, particularly on older or weaker hardware. Lossless is rarely practical for a long playlist: OBS estimates approximately 7 GB per minute, and says this preset uses the CPU encoder. Choose an encoder for performance and compatibility
Use a modern hardware encoder available on your system when practical; hardware encoding can shift work off the CPU. Select a codec with your target player, editor, and upload workflow in mind. OBS describes H.264 as broadly playable. AV1 or HEVC may offer local recording efficiency advantages, but compatibility varies. Do not assume a destination platform or editor accepts every codec. Set resolution, frame rate, and audio for the playlist
Resolution
Set Base (Canvas) Resolution to the workspace size that suits how you arrange the sources, then set Output (Scaled) Resolution for the recording or stream destination. Use the resolution your artwork, visualizer, and target workflow can support cleanly; a higher output resolution does not add detail to a low-resolution cover image.
Frame rate
Choose a common FPS setting that matches the intended output and the content. For a static cover image or a modest visualizer, 30 fps is a reasonable starting point; 60 fps is usually unnecessary for a still visual and can demand more resources. If the visuals contain fast motion, or the destination specifies a frame rate, adjust accordingly. OBS’s general overview advises matching the desired output and notes that 60 fps is more demanding.

Audio
Make sure the intended playlist audio source is routed to the track used for the recording or stream, and check the levels before starting. OBS gives around 160 kbps as general streaming audio guidance, or a lower value if upload capacity is limited; the destination’s own current requirements take priority. That figure is general OBS guidance, not a Hindi-music-specific setting. OBS’s overview covers the general recommendation.
Set live bitrate from the destination and your connection
Do not choose a live video bitrate from a generic preset alone. First identify the platform’s current limits and recommended settings; then choose a bitrate your connection can sustain consistently, leaving headroom for network variation and other household or office traffic. OBS says bitrate depends on both upload speed and the streaming service’s limit.
OBS documentation contains examples that should not be mistaken for universal current settings: its overview uses 6000 kbps as an example Twitch maximum, while its hardware-encoding guide lists 3000 kbps at 1280×720/30 fps, 6000 kbps at 1280×720/60 fps, 8000 kbps at 1920×1080/30 fps, and 16000 kbps at 1920×1080/60 fps for a specific Intel Mac recording procedure. Those are context-bound examples, not a bitrate recommendation for an unspecified platform or computer. Verify the destination’s current limits before going live. Check music rights before you stream or publish
Having a track in a playlist—or being able to play it in OBS—does not establish permission to broadcast it. Rights depend on the specific recordings and permissions you hold. Check the applicable platform rules and confirm your rights for each track before streaming or uploading. Using separate audio tracks to omit music from a local recording does not clear rights for a live broadcast.

Troubleshoot common recording and streaming problems
The recording is missing or unreadable after OBS stopped unexpectedly
Likely cause: the container or interrupted write left the file unusable. Try: record to MKV for future sessions, then remux to MP4 in OBS if the workflow needs MP4. Remuxing is a workflow choice, not a guarantee that an already damaged file can be recovered.

The file is too large or the computer struggles
Likely cause: a demanding preset, codec, resolution, or frame rate. Try: use High Quality rather than Indistinguishable or Lossless, use a supported hardware encoder where practical, and reconsider whether the scene needs 60 fps or a higher output resolution. Lossless is especially storage-intensive for long recordings.
The editor or player will not open the recording
Likely cause: container or codec incompatibility. Try: remux an MKV recording to MP4 with File → Remux Recordings, and confirm that the target software supports the selected codec. H.264 is the broadly compatible option described by OBS; newer codecs may not be accepted by every workflow.
The live stream buffers, drops frames, or will not start
Likely cause: bitrate exceeds stable upload capacity, the destination’s settings or limits do not match, or the stream key and destination setup are incorrect. Try: check the platform’s current requirements, verify the stream key in OBS, test a lower bitrate that your connection can sustain, and confirm the intended resolution and FPS. The correct limit depends on the named destination and current connection, so a universal number would be misleading.
