If you need a clean image of an entire web lesson, start with GoFullPage; if you need to explain steps with narration, compare Awesome Screenshot and Nimbus Capture; for an occasional capture without another extension, Chrome DevTools can do the job. The right replacement depends on whether you need a full page, annotations or blur, a narrated video, or simply a quick image—and on what your school allows you to install or share.
Choose by the lesson you need to share

These feature descriptions come from ITPro, a secondary editorial source, or Nimbus’s own vendor page; they are not results of hands-on testing. Best options for teachers
GoFullPage for a complete lesson page
Choose GoFullPage when the teaching material is a long webpage and students need the whole thing in one capture. ITPro describes a one-click scrolling capture and says it can handle inner scrollable areas and embedded iframes. It also lists JPEG, PNG, and PDF output. Before relying on it, check that the extension’s current behavior and export options suit your browser and your school’s installation rules.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Awesome Screenshot for annotations, blur, and narrated walkthroughs
ITPro lists full-page and partial captures, annotation, blur, narrated MP4 recording, and uploads including Google Drive. Those capabilities make it a candidate when a screenshot needs explanation or when a short video is clearer than a still image. Check current free-tier limits, storage and sharing behavior, and whether the school permits the extension and destination.

FireShot for capture and editing
ITPro lists whole-page, visible-area, and selected-area capture, several output formats, and an editor for cropping and annotation. Its price information may be stale, so confirm current licensing and price directly before recommending or adopting it.
Lightshot for a fast selected area
ITPro characterizes Lightshot as a free, simple selected-area capture tool with online editing and sharing links. That can suit a quick crop, but a sharing link may expose material beyond the intended classroom audience. Confirm whether cloud sharing is appropriate for the content and your school’s rules.

Chrome DevTools for occasional captures
Chrome DevTools can capture visible content, a full-size page, an area, or a selected DOM element, saving the result as PNG. It avoids adding a separate screenshot extension, but the developer-tools workflow may be less direct for repeated classroom use.

Nimbus Capture when keeping the existing workflow
Nimbus Screenshot is presented by FuseBase/Nimbus Web as Nimbus Capture, combining screenshots, annotation, screen recording, and sharing. Its vendor page specifically names educational purposes and examples of giving guidance to students. The vendor states that Free video recordings can be up to five minutes and Pro recordings up to ten hours; verify current plan limits and regional terms before depending on those figures. FuseBase’s comparison of Nimbus and Awesome Screenshot is also vendor-authored, rather than an independent assessment.

Check school rules and the material before sharing
On a school-managed device, follow the institution’s extension policy or ask an administrator before installing a browser add-on. ITPro specifically advises checking organizational security policies. For any screenshot or recording, inspect the final file before sending it: crop or blur sensitive details, and do not upload student names, grades, account details, or other restricted information to a sharing service unless the school permits it.

If you want a screenshot service rather than a browser extension, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. Before capture it can accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be disabled. It bills only clean shots: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot and PDF tools for AI agents. Free includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. It is not a substitute for a teacher-focused annotation or narrated-video workflow.
Or skip the browser setup
For a developer workflow, one GET request can return a screenshot. This cURL example uses the Stripe homepage as the target; replace it with the page you are authorized to capture. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.
