Build around Chain Force after Patch 1.0.0h
The current fan guide reports that Chain Force applies Vulnerable for three seconds to enemies directly hit after seven of the Monk’s own Basic Attack casts. Repeated casts count; attacks from minions or summons do not. Death or changing area resets the counter. If you are building around this effect, make your own Basic Attack sequence and time spent attacking part of your comparison.

The same guide reports that Mirror Steps grants 60% Physical damage for four seconds after a dodge. It also notes adjustments to Piercing Lunge and Whirlwind Staff, without the available evidence establishing how those changes affect their relative performance. The guide links to an official Steam announcement for Patch 1.0.0h, but its patch details were not readable there; these specific values and changes are therefore attributed to the fan guide, not independently confirmed here.
Choose a rune direction by testing the full rotation
The guide names Hundred Hands, Wheel of Nine Heavens, and Serpent’s Tongue as rune-set directions, and associates Hundred Hands with Furious Fist. It advises matching set thresholds to the equipped attack family and checking mana use across the full rotation. The accessible guide does not provide a complete set-bonus table or a controlled comparison establishing a numerical winner, so there is no substantiated basis for calling one rune set universally best.

- Check which attack family your equipped skills use, then see whether the set threshold fits that family.
- Run the complete attack and skill rotation and watch mana use; a short burst does not show whether the setup is sustainable.
- Compare the rune directions with similar gear and in the same zone before changing multiple parts of the build at once.
How to compare Monk setups fairly
A useful comparison measures more than damage during a brief burst. The class-comparison guide updated September 30, 2026 describes its recommendations as playstyle advice, not a measured damage ranking. It suggests comparing candidate setups in the same zone with similar equipment quality, using runs long enough to include potions and several enemy packs, and recording XP per hour, deaths, and interruptions.

How current is the Monk information?
A separate fan data reference describes Monk as demo-locked and points its entry to Warrior abilities. That conflicts with the newer guide updated October 2, 2026, which lists a 14-skill Monk progression and discusses Patch 1.0.0h Monk changes. The demo reference appears stale or limited to the demo build; it should not be treated as the current post-release Monk description.
