If you prefer to control the broadcast yourself and can keep a computer running, OBS is the do-it-yourself option. These approaches solve different problems: cloud playout reduces local upkeep, while a local encoder gives you direct control over the broadcast.
Before choosing a service, check that your YouTube channel can livestream, confirm you have the rights to everything in the video, and decide whether you need a continuous loop, scheduled broadcasts, or multistreaming. Current features and prices for other providers are not established here, so verify them with each service before subscribing.
Check YouTube eligibility and content rules first
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to livestream; streamers must also be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance. A streaming tool cannot bypass these requirements.
Every method remains subject to YouTube’s Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and monetization policies. YouTube’s July 15, 2025 policy notice clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content falls under its “inauthentic content” policy; livestreams are covered. Reused material can also be ineligible when republished without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. A loop is not automatically a violation, but automation does not make repetitive content original or guarantee monetization. Consider the value and originality of the channel’s content as a whole. See YouTube channel monetization policies.

You are responsible for having the necessary rights to all streamed material. YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content, and a stream may be interrupted or terminated if identified material remains. Even licensed material may require the rights owner to allowlist your channel. YouTube’s livestream terms also require streamers to represent that they hold necessary worldwide rights, including music rights. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
Which alternative fits the way you want to run the stream?
For a continuous YouTube broadcast, the main decision is whether you want a computer to operate the stream or prefer a cloud service to play uploaded videos. The comparison below is limited to established distinctions; features, caps, and prices for providers other than StreamNeo have not been verified here and should be checked on their own sites.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Use OBS if you want local control
OBS is a locally run software encoder for recording and livestreaming from your computer. It is the relevant alternative if you want to manage the broadcast on your own machine and can leave that machine running for the duration. YouTube’s official guidance covers the connection between an encoder and a live stream; OBS’s current documentation should be consulted for the exact loop controls and interface for your installed version. Do not assume a cloud service’s scheduling or recovery behavior applies to a local setup.

- Confirm YouTube eligibility. Verify the channel and check that livestreaming is enabled with no restriction in the past 90 days. Make sure the account meets YouTube’s minimum age rule.
- Prepare a rights-cleared video. Check the footage, music, images, and other included material. A license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption unless the rights owner has also allowed the channel where required.
- Create or schedule the YouTube livestream. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream and choose the encoder workflow. Copy the stream key privately; treat it like a password and do not publish or share it.
- Configure OBS for the local broadcast. Add the prerecorded video as a source, connect OBS to YouTube using the stream key, and set up the source to replay as needed using the current OBS controls. Confirm the video and audio play correctly before going live.
- Start the encoder and verify YouTube’s preview. Check that video and audio arrive, then start the livestream in YouTube Studio if the stream is not set to start automatically. Monitor the broadcast and keep the computer, OBS, source file, and network connection available.
OBS’s exact controls can vary by version, and this guide does not specify a tested bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, or loop setting. Use the current OBS and YouTube encoder documentation for settings suited to your source and connection rather than relying on a guessed preset. A local workflow also means a computer shutdown, sleep setting, software crash, or lost internet connection can stop the broadcast.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload the video or prepare a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Start your free StreamNeo day.
What to compare before switching from LiveReacting
Do not choose by a provider’s “24/7” label alone. Check the exact plan and intended workflow:
- Unattended operation: Does the stream keep playing when your computer is off, or must a local encoder remain active?
- Playback: Can you loop one video, rotate a playlist, and update it without rebuilding the broadcast?
- Scheduling: Can you schedule a one-time start, recurring broadcasts, or both? Confirm this is included in the plan you would buy.
- Limits: Check stream duration, number of simultaneous streams, storage, upload limits, and any quality or resolution caps.
- Destinations: Confirm whether the service supports YouTube only or the other platforms you need, and whether destinations can run simultaneously.
- Cost and recovery: Compare billing period and renewal terms alongside what happens after a disconnect, stream drop, or service interruption.
- Rights and policy: Make sure your content is cleared and suitable for YouTube regardless of who operates the encoder.
Common problems and what to check
- YouTube will not let the channel go live: Check verification, age eligibility, and whether the channel has had a livestreaming restriction in the past 90 days.
- The stream starts but stops when you leave: A local OBS broadcast depends on the computer, software, source file, and internet connection staying available. A cloud service is the alternative when local playout must not depend on a running home computer.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast: Check for third-party content matches and confirm that licenses cover livestream use and any required channel allowlisting.
- The loop is not eligible for monetization: Review YouTube’s inauthentic- and reused-content rules. A loop or automation tool cannot guarantee monetization; assess whether the channel provides distinct creative, educational, or other value.
- A third-party service’s advertised feature is missing: Recheck the provider’s current documentation and plan terms. Service features and limits can change, and a vendor-authored comparison is not confirmation of today’s availability.
Can a Premiere replace a 24/7 livestream?
No. A YouTube Premiere presents a prerecorded video as a scheduled viewing event; it is not a continuous 24/7 loop. Choose a Premiere when the goal is a timed release, not an always-on live broadcast.
