For an Astro Bot character build, choose LEGO Astro Bot 40899; for a near 1:1 display replica of the original PlayStation, choose LEGO PlayStation 72306. The first is the compact, lower-priced pick, while the second is a larger, more elaborate console build. A retired Horizon Forbidden West Tallneck is a separate option for fans of PlayStation’s Horizon universe.

Best direct Astro Bot set: LEGO Astro Bot 40899
Set 40899 is the straightforward choice if the character matters more than a console replica. LEGO describes a brick-built Astro Bot figure mounted on a stand, with a cape, blue propulsion jets, movable head and arms, and interchangeable eyes. At over 8 inches tall including the stand, it is sized for a shelf or desk rather than a large display area.
LEGO lists 276 pieces and an 18+ age recommendation. That makes it a collector-oriented build by the maker’s stated age guidance, not a younger-child playset. LEGO’s US product page displayed $19.99 when checked October 5, 2026; that is a dated US list price, not a guarantee of today’s price or stock in another region. See the official LEGO Astro Bot 40899 listing.

Best original-console display: LEGO PlayStation 72306
Set 72306 is the pick for PlayStation hardware nostalgia. LEGO announced it as its first-ever LEGO PlayStation set on September 3, 2026. It recreates the original console and its first controller in near 1:1 scale, with functional Open and Power buttons and a controller that plugs into the console. The build also hides small dioramas inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.
The build has 1,911 pieces, an 18+ recommendation, and stated dimensions of over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. LEGO said Insiders early access would begin October 1, followed by general availability October 4, 2026. LEGO’s current US new-sets page listed it at $179.99 when checked October 5, 2026. This is a substantially larger and more detailed project than Astro Bot 40899, but the specification alone does not establish build difficulty, quality, or value. Legacy option: LEGO Horizon Forbidden West Tallneck 76989
For fans whose PlayStation interest centers on Horizon, the Tallneck 76989 depicts the machine from Horizon Forbidden West and includes Aloy, a Watcher, and landscape details. LEGO’s UK product page marks it retired. It contains 1,222 pieces and measures over 34 cm high, 23 cm wide, and 17 cm deep according to LEGO.
LEGO’s February 15, 2022 announcement called it the company’s first collaboration with PlayStation inspired by Horizon Forbidden West, developed with Guerrilla; the announcement gave an original US price of $79.99 and planned May 2022 availability. That historic price is not a current offer. Because the set is retired, buyers should treat it as a secondary-market collectible and check seller condition, completeness, and current price. See the LEGO UK Tallneck listing and LEGO’s 2022 announcement.

- Consider Tallneck 76989 only if you specifically want a Horizon-themed LEGO model and are comfortable buying a retired set from a seller whose condition and price need checking.
All three carry an 18+ age recommendation in the cited LEGO information. No independent comparative testing establishes build time, difficulty, durability, or which set offers better value, so use the published specifications and your franchise preference to decide.
