There is no single best Legionfall army for every mission. In original World of Warcraft: Legion, build each class-hall party around the threats shown on that mission: counter the boss or other Powerful threat first, cover additional hazards where possible, then use remaining slots to improve the success chance shown in the interface. Your class, recruited troops, roster and mission effects determine which lineup is actually best.
How to choose a party for a Legion mission
Class-hall missions send champions, supported by recruitable troops, against enemies. You need at least one champion in a party to bring troops. Missions can show one to three threats, including bosses or Argus Elites and non-boss threats such as Hazards, Minions and Spells. Champion specializations and abilities provide counters; some troop types can also counter a non-boss threat.

- Read the threat icons. Identify every listed threat and check which champion specializations, abilities or troop variants answer it.
- Cover the highest-impact threat first. Give priority to a boss or a threat marked Powerful, then address other threats whose uncountered effects would reduce success or increase mission time or cost.
- Fill open slots with useful units. Add champions or troops that improve the displayed success chance, while checking whether a unit’s ability actually counters a threat rather than merely adding a bonus.
- Compare the final party in the interface. Review success chance, troop use and availability, and any listed cost or duration effects before sending the mission.

Boss with additional threats
Use a champion whose specialization handles the boss, then cover the remaining threats with champion abilities or troop counters. If slots remain, choose units that increase the mission’s displayed success chance. Do not assume that a success bonus neutralizes a listed threat; confirm the effect in the party interface.

Several high-impact threats
Prioritize the threat marked Powerful and any other threat whose uncountered effect meaningfully harms the mission. If your roster cannot counter everything, compare the likely consequences of leaving each one uncovered against the available party’s success chance, cost and duration.
Limited counter coverage
A powerful troop may help if its randomly assigned non-boss counter matches an uncovered threat. Check the troop you have actually recruited: its assigned counter may not fit this mission, and another party may perform better. The choice depends on the mission icons and available roster, not a fixed lineup.

- Knight Fall features a campaign mode for one to two players. In this mode, you read stories while exploring the map of a haunted valley, drawing your path as you travel.
- During the game, you choose a unique knight or demon, each with a variety of special powers—such as the Flame Knight’s ability to surround his foes in fire, or the Bone Crusher’s power to summon skeletal minions. The cards you play from your hand to perform actions can each be used in different ways, and a set of unique location tiles allows you to create the monastery with a different layout every game.
- Wander through crumbling churches, a sinister forest, and a dark mountain to stop the demons before the final battle at Thornmar Abbey.
- You must do whatever you can to keep your knights alive; the death of each knight means one fewer hero to combat the invading demons in the final battle!

Time- or resource-sensitive missions
Where possible, include counters to effects that increase mission duration or cost. If no party can cover every threat, compare the actual interface outcomes rather than maximizing success chance alone; a higher displayed chance may not be the best trade if it leaves a costly or time-consuming effect active.

Class-specific rosters
Build with the champions and troop abilities available to your own class. Each class has access to counters across its champion roster, but the units and abilities differ, so a composition for another class may not transfer. Exact champion names also depend on the player’s class, roster and advancement state.

What troop bonuses do—and do not—tell you
Wowhead’s original Legion guide reports that lesser troops add 15% success chance and greater or powerful troops add 30%; it also says powerful troops counter one randomly assigned non-boss threat. Some class-specific special troops have distinct properties. These are figures and mechanics as described in a guide updated October 17, 2025, not a comparative test of army compositions or a current official balance statement.
Use those reported bonuses as one factor in choosing among available parties, not as a substitute for threat coverage. A troop that raises success chance may still leave a threat’s effect uncountered. The mission interface and your current roster are the practical checks.

Legionfall missions versus the Broken Shore campaign
“Legionfall” can refer to the wider Broken Shore campaign and Armies of Legionfall faction, but the composition advice here is specifically about class-hall missions. Blizzard’s Patch 7.2 overview describes the Broken Shore, Legionfall War Supplies and reputation from world quests, along with a three-building construction effort and benefits including dungeon world quests, Legionfall Reinforcements and a Challenge Mission. Its Legion flying guide likewise identifies Armies of Legionfall as a faction and lists quests, Broken Shore world quests and building construction among reputation sources. That campaign context does not supply a universal class-hall lineup.
